Reagan and Nixon:recorded racist call

Denounced his past and was recognized as a hero by the NAACP.

As recently as 2005, in his memoir, Byrd describes the KKK as a fraternal assembly of, quote, "upstanding people," end quote. He was the only senator to vote against both African-American Supreme Court nominees Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas.

He personally filibustered the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964. He opposed President Truman's initiative to integrate the Armed Forces. And he said he would never fight, quote, "with a negro by my side. Rather, I should die 1,000 times than to see this beloved land become degraded by race mongrels," end quote.

He once called Martin Luther King a, quote, "self-seeking rabble- rouser" and even told the FBI he could give a speech condemning King on the floor of the Senate, saying it was time that the civil rights leader, quote, "met his waterloo."

He also once said the writers of the Declaration of Independence did not intend for words "all men created equal" to be taken literally.

The “all men are created equal” was a bullshit lie when Jefferson’s ink was still wet, moron.

Reagan signed a strict gun control law in California in 1967. Know why? It was because BLACKS were carrying guns in public. :rofl2:

Sorry pally boy. I'm not racist, Southern, or a Democrat.

Wow, I just realized that you're the "You" in SmarterthanYou's username. Congratulations, stupid fuck. :rofl2:

Try to keep up, stupid fuck.

YOU referred to the Democrats against civil rights legislation, not me. I pointed out that those racist “Bull Connors” of the day were conservatives, not liberals.

You’re a conservative, aren’t you? :rofl2:

Reagan was a fucking racist

Is there ANY republican hero who wasn't a racist?

Byrd on the KKK in 2005 long after 1971 and 5 years after this statement on the KKK THE RACIST PARTY CALLED HIM A HERO

Byrd in 2005 described the KKK essentially as a fraternal group of elites -- doctors, lawyers, clergy, judges, and other ''upstanding people" who at no time engaged in or preached violence against blacks

Volsrock is such a Trumpian righty. Thread about Reagan and Nixon, he argues about Byrd. Byrd became a real knowledgable senator specializing in nuances of the constitution. He chastised members who brought bills to the floor that were not correct. He was at the end a scholar of the constitution. Yes when he was a southern boy and man, he was a KKK member. So was Trump's father. The KKK had a marches in the 20s. in Washington DC. https://mashable.com/2015/12/24/kkk-parade/ It was a different time until Trump became prez and it is now acceptable.
