Majority in the house and 2/3rd of senate is required. The Repub senate would keep Ghengis Kahn on the bench if he followed Federalist right-wing directions. It is made difficult because it was assumed that the best would be appointed to the SCOTUS. Thomas was the canary who showed quality did not matter anymore. The mine has been poisoned.

The FBI investigation was for his qualifications for Supreme Court, not for sexual assault. Their job is over.

If there is sufficient evidence for a sexual assault investigation, it would be by the Montgomery County police. But they say no investigation is started unless a person makes an accusation and a complaint is filed--neither has occurred. The charge would be attempted rape which was a misdemeanor in 1982 with a one-year statute of limitation.

There is no purpose in continued vetting when the Senate has already voted to confirm. If Senators thought they had enough informatn to make a decision the vetting process is over.

This is just another of the weekly "smoking gun" revelations that will really get him this time. I'm not sure if posters really think the newest revelation will actually have any results or they are just posting threads for discussion.

Does anybody really think a letter from two House members will lead to a new investigation? Members of Congress write executive branch agencies every day--sometimes they even get a response.
