Trump has 62 percent disapproval rating in new AP poll

The majority of Americans in a new poll disapproves of President Trump’s overall performance, despite greater support for the president’s handling of the economy than other issues in the survey.

Sixty-two percent of Americans said they disapprove of the job Trump is doing, while just 36 percent approve, according to the Associated Press–NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll released Thursday.

While low compared to former President Obama, Trump’s latest approval rating is relatively consistent with the polling results seen throughout his first term. Trump’s approval rating has stayed between 32 and 42 percent throughout his time in office, the AP noted.

Amid fears of a recession, which Trump and administration officials have dismissed, 46 percent of Americans now approve of Trump’s handling of the economy, based on the poll.

For some weird reason that is about the same percentage of voters who thought George Dumbya Bush was doing a great job, as the economy crashed and burned around us in 2008.

And that seems to be about the same percentage of people who continued to cling to the idea that invading Iraq was an awesome idea, long after the clusterf*ck became obvious to everyone else.

Leading me to conclude that the exact same people who thought George Dumbya was doing a great job, and that invading Iraq was a totally awesome idea, are the same people who think Trump is doing great.

The two Democratic presidents I voted for did reasonably good jobs, certainly did not crash the economy or put the nation at dire risk, and did not embarrass the United States to our allies or on the world stage. Both left office with 60 percent plus approval rating, and they were not complete failures and embarrassments.

So far, I have nothing indefensible that I have to defend. And I do not believe I would even try to defend the indefensible.

What you have on this board and throughout the wingnutosphere are millions of Republicans who spent countless hours defending the indefensible - George Dumbya Bush's stewardship of the economy, George Dumbya's Iraq War Fiasco, and the continual embarrassment Donald Trump is when representing our nation to allies and on the world stage.

1) Polls are effortlessly manipulated horseshit. You can literally make them conclude anything you want.

2) These are the same people who told us Hillary had a 95% chance of winning.
