I would agree in theory but add that in reality it would never be allowed to happen since we balance our capitalism with socialism. Our challenge is to find the correct balance to suit the times. Currently, we don't have enough socialism, and our outsized capitalism component is pushing us toward fascism. Fortunately we are not there yet. As conditions for the masses deteriorate, public sentiment will rise for adjusting the balance in favor of Promoting the General Welfare.

Conservatives must be forced to accept that promoting the General Welfare is more than pretending we have a free market system which would serve all equally. They must be shown that a government corrupted by capitalist power is not a 'free market system,' and that liberal government IS the regulator for self-destructive capitalism.

If you want more Socialism, perhaps you should emigrate to Venezuela...bring food and batteries.

Fascism is the crisis stage of capitalism, not the final one, because fascism has always occurred so far in local capitalisms, not universally. As the crises grow more international, we shall see.
