Strategies are obvious. Republicans know Trump is guilty as hell and each new reinforcing piece is just another they will be forced to look ridiculous lying about.
So they want no investigation here, and won't provide any witnesses unless at gunpoint, and when it gets there for trial, they will do nothing and white wash the whole thing and acquit their criminal.
We, of course, know all this and therefore of the need to get reinforcing evidence now, because we know for sure we are looking at a kangaroo court in the senate,
so we would like to make them poo poo, guffaw, and disregard as much damning evidence as possible so they will appear to the public at large to be
the complicit criminal party that they are.

It's all very simple to me.

Then of course we will kill them in a landslide election and take all houses of government for a generation or more, such is and will be the total distaste for the corrupt criminal clown admin
