Russia could spend billions on their own oil fields. They don't need to waste money in Syria. Asswad was buying oil from ISIS until the fields were destroyed.

Well lol, why are the Russians wasting money on Syria to begin with? Why is anybody?

Trump just took charge of the only valuable real estate in a Russian client state—and Puttie is ok with this?

Why can’t Puttie have it?

He’s the one propping up Assad. Is he 2-stupid to realize that he could offset some of the costs by rebuilding the oil fields?

Maybe Puttie could start a pro-impeachment troll campaign so he can help get Trump out of the way lol. In fact, that would warm relations with China since they would like him gone too.

Unless they're selling it to Turkey, the oil is too far from any port to be a money maker.

Syria is Russia's base in the Middle East, and Tartus Naval Facility is their warm water port- it is the strategic value for Russia,
They are upgrading Tartus as well with full port facilities, including a dry dock
