Look at the fact that people become more conservative with life experience (except for the unique few who can't learn).
Before treasonous lunatic extremism like sanctuary cities, sex changes for children, rigged elections, fake hate crimes, and rampaging mobs of bloodthirsty Democrat terrorists? Sure. It's hard for any period not to be better than what Democrats have done to the present.
Preferring sanity to what Democrats have done to the present requires them to think some era prior to this was PERFECT? Or requires it to be something they were manipulated into thinking? Feeble attempt at a counterpoint.

we seemed to be hanging in there and was probably going to just be a phase, until the little bed-wetter generation grew up a little,
but then along came Obama, a president elected for no reason besides he was half black
with no experience, no ideas, and being a racist we were in serious trouble starting the day he took office, in 8 short years he nearly sank us, nearly.
but a test to our history, our resolve, in 3 short years we are on the path to recovery
our standing in the world being restored, our economy getting back on solid ground, our values are being restored.
And I mean long term restored, Trump is stacking the courts with every fiber in his body at record pace.. that's where the juice is.
