The consensus is that Bolton will eventually testify...

Bolton has indicated he is willing to testify, but only if a court clears him to do so despite instructions from the White House for him not to do so. Technically, he has a point: Executive privileges do exist and, while not properly as protective as the Trump White House claims, they still are at their strongest in the realm of direct conversations with the president and especially when involving diplomacy.

For Bolton to refuse to buck a privilege claim from the White House is, to his credit, in line with a consistent position of his over the years. Namely, Bolton long has argued that the presidency enjoys a strong presumption of independent judgment, action, and discretion in the realm of diplomacy and military policy. Although some of us may not believe the executive prerogatives are quite so strong, we should acknowledge Bolton is showing intellectual integrity here.

Remember, Bolton is no suck-up to Trump. He is known to have deep disagreements with Trump, and no personal reason to want to protect this president. For all those reasons, his reluctance to testify is no mark of cowardice or cover-up. Nonetheless, he should overcome that reluctance.

Trump has always been a racketeering lying POS so who is surprised by his cover-up? Even his AG Barr is there because of his long history of cover-ups.

Ghoul-iani is in a world of deep shit on his own so he will do whatever he needs to do to cover his own wrinkled ass.
 
If the Schiff Show wants Bolton or Mulvaney they need to take Trump to court to enforce their subpoena.
They are not doing that ( because they know they will lose on executive privilege) - so fuck 'em

In the same way it's okay for Schiff to block testimony from certain witnesses being questioned by Republicans. Or any number of underhanded Soviet style tactics. I don't recall you starting a thread about that. Did I miss it?

Things like this are unremarkable at this point. This presidency has been off the rails since day one.
It is an utterly lawless administration. Nobody has any confidence in its operations. It is untrustworthy.

I wonder if Trump will testify at his trial for high crimes? And then the later ones for tax fraud and election fraud? Maybe we will get a statement from jail.
 
I find it fascinating that the demmycrats are so eager to hear these people testify that Trump did nothing wrong......and yet, they don't want them to testify in public.......why is that......
 
They prevent the direct witnesses from testifying, then whine about there being no direct witnesses.
