Miss USA, Miss America, Miss Teen USA, Miss Universe and now Miss World are all black

I've seen/heard black friends/acquaintances argue this intensely. The term that gets used a lot is colorism and how even within the black community there is discrimination among themselves against darker skin folks. The other side of the argument is even if you are light skinned black that police and racists treat you the same way. But yeah, it's opening a whole pandora's box.

I wonder how many other closet racist liberals will comment on this?

And speaking of black women (and Uncle Tom's since ken is not a fan of them), Oprah has been getting crushed. She has a new either documentary or movie coming out about (hip hop mogul) Russell Simmons and the rape allegations against him. This is her second documentary about rape allegations and both of them were about black men. First Michael Jackson and now Simmons. I'm reading what folks are saying about her and I'm covering my eyes. Basically she's an Uncle Tom who hates black men. She's a rich clown who's a puppet for rich white men and on and on.

I don't know if this has always been the feeling in the black community towards Oprah but it took me by surprise.

You go sisters!!!!

(CNN) For the first time, top beauty pageants -- Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America, Miss Universe and now, Miss World -- have crowned black women as their winners at the same time.

And that's a big deal if you know pageant history.

Beauty pageants early in their histories, some dating back to the 1920s, barred women of color from participating. Even after organizations began changing their rules to accept women of all races, there was still a lingering frustration and opposition to join.

So why are the racists still holding Ms Black America and the black ONLY beauty pageants?

Did a black woman also win the Miss Black America pageant?

Who won the Miss White America pageant?
Who won the Miss Asian-American pageant?

Minorities that do not take advantage of what this country offers always put down the ones that do. Same with white liberals and conservatives. If people would just get off their asses and use what this country has made available to them, they would not be bitching. Most will not though. They will just sit there waiting for the handouts.

Yeah they are mostly white. The woman that I was referring to in post 90 was very, very dark. French roast coffee bean dark. From what I could tell she was 100% west African, and she had the figure for that as well; best described as "full". Not at all like the skinny waifs that these contestants are.

One of the issues that "true" African women have is that their beautiful facial features don't show up in normal lighting situations, such as a group photo with light skinned people.

Years ago when I was team photographer for a high school girls team one of the girls was very dark skinned, and in a group photo, perfect outdoor light, you could barely make out her face. I didn't want to photoshop and lighten just her face so I lightened the entire photo as much as I could before washing out the fair skinned faces.

The left would have never mentioned the color of the winners. What meaning does it have? Just girls entering beauty contests, and some winning. Who cares?
