If we cancel student debt should those who paid for college get their money back??

jan 24 2020 After being confronted by a man questioning her student loan forgiveness plan, Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren dismissed his argument. "We don't build an America by saddling our kids with debt," she said on "CBS This Morning" Friday.

In the exchange, which was caught on video and posted to Twitter Tuesday, the father tells Warren that he saved all his money for his daughter's college education. "Am I going to get my money back?" he asked her, to which she said "of course not."

"So you're going to pay for people who didn't save any money and those of us who did the right thing get screwed?" he said.

Asked how she responds to him and others with the same opinion, Warren said, "Look, we build a future going forward by making it better. By that same logic what would we have done? Not started Social Security because we didn't start it last week for you or last month for you."

When asked if she was "saying tough luck" to those people, she said "No," but went into a story about how she was given a shot to go to college even though her family "had no money."

I paid for 42 private school years for my three children and helped pay for 12 college years.

I have no obligation to pay for anyone else’s education...none.

Dude, we are not going to elect people who have such wild expectations as paying off student debt with tax payer's money!

So, let me just advise you, Liz Warren, and Bernie Sanders and all of their cheerleaders of that!

My God you people are off on some tangents!

We'll see about that. This is a country that provides free k-12 for 10 million illegal alien kids who aren't even allowed to be here. That's been going on since 1982 and has cost the taxpayers trillions.

These types of questions are class warfare by the wealthy intended to pit the 99% against itself.

Student loan debt should be entirely cancelled and everyone should get higher wages. And if the rich don't like it, they can go fuck themselves because the effective tax rate at the end of a pitchfork or the blade of a guillotine is 100%.

You should pay what you agreed to pay and earn higher wages if you want them. If you don't like that, go jump off of a bridge. If you'd rather try the pitchfork or guillotine method, I can't say I've met anyone that can run faster than 3340 ft/sec.
