8 months of "but her emails" dragged down Clinton's favorables to the point that Comey's announcement was all it took to solidify that narrative in the heads of voters.

The same thing will happen with Biden and Burisma and the GOP's sham Senate investigation of him. Count on it. We can't avoid it with Biden. It will be the central piece of Trump's campaign against him.

Also, Biden is currently polling worse vs. Trump than Clinton was at this point in 2016.

Except Trump’s gaffes are of a different nature. His grammar can suck, he has his words like ‘Jina’ for China. His worst failing is saying things he shouldn’t be saying. He’s gotten better about it but he’s apparently incapable of totally getting past it. On the other hand, Trump does rally after rally where he speaks for over an hour without giving his many enemies in the media any gaffe fodder. And he does it time and again.

I don’t even want to imagine Biden trying that. In fact, I don’t know that there’s an another politician on the scene that can.

Donald Trump is a fucking idiot, and that's a given.

Biden is held to an entirely different standard, as fair or unfair as it may be. Trump has the luxury of wallowing in his low standards because his supporters don't hold him to any of their own, so it becomes a much easier proposition to punch up at Biden and seize upon every gaffe, transgression, or misstatement he makes...which are sure to be many given he's Joe Biden.

By setting the bar on the floor, Trump has given himself leeway to make an issue of Biden's lack of coherence. And I think that sucks A LOT, and it's why Biden struggled for so long during the primary until the field cleared itself out for him this past week.

Biden is in a class all by himself. If Trump said something like ‘we were all created equal by...you know...the thing’ they would try and use the 25th Amendment on him.

Not in the slightest. Hillary dragged herself down: presuming to be Queen Elect and not doing the little campaigning needed in WI, MI, and PA to hold them for her election.

Biden is still polling better than Trump and it will only get better.

Which was entirely Biden's strategy leading up to yesterday...he barely campaigned in any of the states, he spent virtually no money in any of them, he didn't have any campaign workers on the ground...he was relying on his status and privilege as Obama's VP who thinks he's owed this and doesn't have to work for it.

Since that has been his approach to the primary, what makes you think it'll be different for the general?

This economy is not "prospering" any more than it did during Obama's last term, and we were promised GDP growth of at least 3% thanks to the tax cut.

So where's that 3% growth?

As I said, Trump's supporters hold him to absolutely no standards, which is why Trump is going to mop the floor with Biden by seizing on one single gaffe or misstatement to portray Joe Biden as senile.

And that's going to add to the BURISMA BURISMA BURISMA LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP that will be all we hear for the next 8 months if we concede the nomination to Biden now, like so many scared moderates want.

8 months of "BUT HER EMAILS" was enough to drag Clinton down; so there's no reason to believe Biden won't experience the same thing with "BURISMA".
