Yes, you can dispose of it easily. It goes into landfills, just like the rest of our garbage. It also burns. It's also food for bacteria. Don't chuck your garbage into the sea and you won't have to worry about seeing so much garbage at sea.
I throw my dead bodies into the landfill too after I chop them up to fit in the trash.

It's not illegal to grow in the U.S. now, mainly thanks to Trump. But there were times in our history when it was illegal to grow. :thup:

Nah. It's always been grown in the U.S. We've made hemp fibers for rope, textiles, paper, string, etc. throughout the history of the United States.

Most people don't buy it much anymore, since hemp rope shrinks in a wet/dry cycle, and breaks down in UV exposure unless you tar it (one of the less pleasant tasks on those tall sailing ships :D). People instead tend to favor poly rope which doesn't stretch or shrink so bad, though it too breaks down in UV. It's cheaper than hemp rope too. Smaller sailing vessels also use poly ropes now, since they run smoothly through the blocks, despite the UV problem. Any running rigging should be checked regularly anyway. I use poly for tying down my aircraft, changing it out at the end of summer (and it's high UV) so it doesn't snap in the winter storms. It's cheap insurance.

PVC for example, breaks down into water, carbon dioxide, and sodium chloride (the salt you use on your food to season it).
ABS breaks down into pretty much the same kind of things, with some ammonium chloride as one the salts you get.
Styrene plastics also break down into pretty much the same components as PVC.
The bacteria also produce a bit of methane in the process. That just vents off.

There is no magick 'soup' as you describe.

We couldn't get to the Moon without plastics. NASA currently can't even get a manned rocket off the ground, much less to the Moon or anything. The Shuttle is retired, and it couldn't leave Earth orbit. (Oh...it required plastics to function as well).

The point is, humans can do anything we want to, if we set our minds to it.

If you support Republicans, you are actually part of the problem when it comes to plastic pollution of the oceans.

3D printing typically uses PVA, a food grade plastic that easily decomposes in hot water or by exposure to UV. ABS is a tougher plastic (also used for sewer pipes) because of it's longer polymer. Left exposed, it will break down just like any plastic, though it takes a lot longer than plastics used for packaging, where the problem with garbage in the ocean lies.

Dispose of your plastics in the trash. It's perfectly safe landfill material.

3D printing has become so common place, that Fantasy gamers are using it to print miniatures instead of using lead or other mediums.

Plus; it's gotten so advanced that I know of one company that in August is going to be offering characters, you design, where the buyer can choose what color(s) they want on what clothing the character is dressed in and what items they are carrying.

Good info. Tarring? ... makes sense now that you said it. I thought poly rope was good for 5 or more years.
