FL TRUMP lov'g megachurch--pack the pews amid virus 'we'll die together for CHRIST'

It is a local version of Jonestown. But you do not fall over in your pew. You go home and broadcast it everywhere and at home.

Fun fact: Jim Jones was a DEMOCRAT crony in San Franshitsco.

But don't take my word for it:

Jones had built his ministry into a force in San Francisco with a program of helping the young, elderly and destitute. Supporters, including powerful officials, defended him against allegations that he was abusing followers.

Before he became infamous for leading 913 people to their deaths in the Guyanese jungle, the Rev. Jim Jones was the darling of San Francisco's liberal establishment -- a man who could spread the wealth to all the fashionable charities and, at a moment's notice, marshal thousands of followers for a good cause.

Jones was a minister of the Disciples of Christ, but in San Francisco he was best known as the suave if slightly sinister leader of Peoples Temple, a flock of perhaps 8,000 people, mostly poor and mostly black, who appeared to do everything Jones told them to do.

With these willing workers, Jones made himself the perfect gift for the liberal machine of U.S. Representatives Phillip and John Burton, Assemblyman Willie Brown and Mayor George Moscone, which was trying to consolidate its hold on San Francisco politics.

"There wasn't anything magical about Jim's power," Timothy Stoen, who spent nearly seven years in Peoples Temple as Jones' attorney, said the other day.

"It was raw politics. He was able to deliver what politicians want, which is power. And how do you get power? By votes. And how do you get votes? With people. Jim Jones could produce 3,000 people at a political event."

ADDITIONAL FUN FACT: The entire time he was building his 'megachurch' in N. California, REAGAN, Governor of CA was just 'up the road' in Sacramento. Jim Jones started it in 67, with massive growth over the next 5 years. He moved to Ghana in 77 when a CALIF investigative journalist was about to blow open Jones PERVERSIONS and FRAUD in an expose. Jones and his flock fled.

So what did Reagan know and when did he know it?

REAGAN, GOVERNOR of CA 1967-1975.

Hello Centerleftfl,

Nunes, a congressman, TRUMP LOVER, tells his constituents go to bars and restaurants, it's easier to get in. Now this megachurch clown wants his flock to die for CHRIST together.

Trump-loving megachurch begs followers to pack into the pews amid coronavirus outbreak: ‘If we die — we die for Christ’

A South Florida megachurch pastor wants his congregation to know even though the coronavirus continues to spread, they should be coming to church to worship anyway, and any fear they might have of packed spaces is coming from a “demonic spirit.”

“Do you believe God would bring his people to his house to be contagious with the virus? Of course not,” pastor Guillermo Maldonado said, according to the Miami Herald. But as the Herald points out, Maldonado’s service wasn’t as packed as it usually is.

“This service is usually packed. So now they’re home in a cave afraid of the virus, that you want to transmit the virus,” Maldonado lamented. “If we die, we die for Christ. If we live, we live for Christ, so what do you lose?”

Other places of worship in the area have followed the advice of health officials to avoid mass gatherings of “over 250” in an effort to stem the infection rates and have shuttered services. But Maldonado seems to have the opposite intent. In a now-deleted Facebook post, he warned his followers that they have two choices — “Come in and receive your healing, or stay home and miss out.”...

Jim Jones was his role model.

Hello StoneByStone,

Hopefully the Trumpcucks there will die before the election.

An interesting point.

Will Democrats take heed and proper precautions as Republicans ignore warnings and claim it's all a hoax, not as bad as the flu, etc?

And what would be the predictable result of that?

Will more Republicans die from Corona Virus than Democrats?

'Nothing to worry about. Liberals are afraid of their own shadow. I'll meet ya at the bar...'

Prove it. Naturally, I will understand if you can't.

BTW. I'm still waiting for you to identify the "fascists" who supposedly "tried to take away" your "freedom", and you haven't explained what "freedoms" they have allegedly attempted to steal from you.
Indeed he has not, Legion.

Safe zones, hot chocolate, tissues, gun free zones.

Jim Jones was his role model.

Who told you that?

I'll understand if it was a voice inside your head, of course.

BTW, Jim Jones was a DEMOCRAT ally.

Unless you have evidence that Jones ever did political favors for Governor Reagan, your point is moot.

But Jones did lots of favors for San Franshitsco DEMOCRATS.

They loved him.

Having moved his flock to northern California in the 1960s, Jones began leveraging their labor toward political ends, volunteering them for protests or electioneering on behalf of friendly aspirants to public office.

Gaining the respect of San Francisco’s political class, Jones became a player in his own right.

Many gave him credit for Moscone’s tight victory in the 1975 mayoral runoff, and he was appointed head of the San Francisco Housing Authority.

Praised as a hero of social justice and a crusader for racial equality, Jones became an important figure in DEMOCRAT politics.

Among his advocates was Harvey Milk, also a newcomer to San Francisco. Milk became politically radical in California and repeatedly sought election to office as an outsider to the political machine. Milk attended services at Peoples Temple dozens of times, and wrote effusive letters to Jones. “Such greatness I have found in Jim Jones’s Peoples Temple,” Milk proclaimed.

Milk wasn’t Jones’s only fan. Many powerful people—Governor Jerry Brown, columnist Herb Caen, and Vice President Walter Mondale, to name a few—sought Jones’s blessings and expressed admiration for his dedication to racial equality and a better world.

Where, anywhere, did I see where he did any favors? REAGAN had the investigatory power of CA LAW ENFORCEMENT and could have picked up and gotten the FBI involved in a NY second. Are you really going to tell us that you think HE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT? I do not believe for a second that REPUBLICANS weren't already looking at this megalomaniac and his known church. ASSUMING that was case, why did the Reagan admin. stand down or choose to look the other way?

It was a TIMELY and legitimate question.

Where, anywhere, did I see where he did any favors?

Nowhere, because there's no evidence that Jones ever helped Reagan the way he helped DEMOCRATS, AFAIK.

REAGAN had the investigatory power of CA LAW ENFORCEMENT and could have picked up and gotten the FBI involved in a NY second.

Why would he?

Are you really going to tell us that you think HE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT?

Who's "us"? Are the voices in your head reading my post, too?

I do not believe for a second that REPUBLICANS weren't already looking at this megalomaniac and his known church. ASSUMING that was case, why did the Reagan admin. stand down or choose to look the other way?

I don't care what you believe or assume. If you have any facts, let me know.

It was a TIMELY and legitimate question.

It was a deflection attempt.

At the pulpit, Jones preached against the unfairness of capitalism and the racism rife in America.

In San Francisco, they had all the proof they needed. Jim Jones was a regular feature in Herb Caen’s society columns; Caen called him "soft-spoken, modest, publicity shy."

George Moscone and Harvey Milk both attended temple services.

Governor Jerry Brown planned on it, too, but missed the date due to a scheduling mix-up. He called to apologize and praised the good work Peoples Temple was doing. If this was a cult, followers could reason, it was a cult with the backing of some of California’s most prominent politicians.

Edmund Gerald Brown Jr. is an American retired politician who served as the 34th and 39th governor of California from 1975 to 1983.

Prove it. Naturally, I will understand if you can't.

I already explained it to you. I know you understand it, you're just too much of a coward to admit that you don't care as long as Trump stays president.

BTW. I'm still waiting for you to identify the "fascists" who supposedly "tried to take away" your "freedom", and you haven't explained what "freedoms" they have allegedly attempted to steal from you.

I already said that the Republicans who voted to keep Trump after he was caught trying to cheat are Fascists. You could repeat the question, hoping to change reality, but reality won't change.

They haven't come for any freedoms yet, because that's not the first step. The first step is eliminating Democracy. After the Republicans have eliminated Democracy, they'll begin eliminating our freedoms.

I don't know about politicians, but among average people, Republicans tend to be a lot older than Democrats. So yes, more Republicans than Democrats will definitely die from Corona Virus. At least there's some good news.

I already explained it to you. I know you understand it, you're just too much of a coward to admit that you don't care as long as Trump stays president.

You haven't prove that what you claimed is true. I'm waiting.

I already said that the Republicans who voted to keep Trump after he was caught trying to cheat are Fascists. You could repeat the question, hoping to change reality, but reality won't change.

It's not "reality" because you say so, whether you repeat your assertion or not.

They haven't come for any freedoms yet, because that's not the first step. The first step is eliminating Democracy. After the Republicans have eliminated Democracy, they'll begin eliminating our freedoms.

Then why did you post this hyperbolic bullshit? Are you on your period?

It's not about hate. Fascists want to take away my freedom. I rather them die than that happen.

You didn't answer any of my points because you don't have the balls to just admit the truth. You're cool with having a dictatorship.
