are vehicles really necessary to a modern society?

it appears that if there's a serious enough national crisis, the government has no problem shutting down traffic on the roadways.....

so, domer, looks like i'm always right and smarter than you

Nowhere in the article does it say the government is shutting down traffic. According to your article, there is a truck driver shortage(maybe). But that is not a government thing.

i prepared for the eventuality of a complete shutdown of services.......i've got enough food for months and I work from home. tell me again how vehicles are necessary??????

I was right, you were wrong. just admit that you're an idiot and move on.

I guess you'll find out in a few months... :)

I lived in NYC, lived far out of town & never needed a car.. Although lots of ppl live there, not everyone..

THose that don't live in a city w/ such conveniences are going to have to make other choices..

irrelevant and you know it, retard. I could have obtained them any number of ways, fucking idiot.

OUCH!!!

Guess you never had an accident at home. Little things like falls, shocks, burns. No one person can be totally self sufficient.

dude, i've been bitten, tore up, fallen, cut, and burnt and I deal with it myself. yes, i've been lucky enough to not have it be life threatening, but EVERYONE should be totally self sufficient and be less of a drain on the resources of society. stop going to the ER for a cold.

You are either the luckiest man alive or the biggest bullshit artist alive. I believe the latter is the most accurate.

There are many truck driving jobs out there. Look for them, they are there...and many have sign-on bonuses.

I believe him, EE. He's been a survivalist type for years.

One reason I don't believe him is very few people have gone through life without breaking a bone and needing a xray and cast. Or cutting themselves badly enough to require stiches. Even survivalist depend on hospitals and doctors from time to time.

Of course not. Construction Workers could just carry their Tools to the Construction Site across town.

And farmers can hire backpackers to get all that food to your store, then the store can hire backpackers to bring it to your door... the idea of fresh fruit needs to go away, but I'm sure it could be done.

Because NYC has taxis to move people around, and trucks to move cargo into the city and around it.

Not everyone has the resources you do, and you yourself are not self sufficient, since you depend on trucks to get your goods to market and to obtain your seed, supplies, and equipment.
