COVID related deaths

You’re consumed with this COVIDActnow shit. I never heard of it until you started spouting your typical RW conspiracy bullshit.

This plays out repeatedly. They get it from Fox. It's a tried and true disinformation technique which boiled down is just a straw man.

Fox news takes an ear of corn, paints an ugly face on it, stuffs some straw for arms, lights it on fire and shove it in the evil DEMS mouthson TV.
Then their moron viewers talk about it over and over in their echo chamber to the point they assume we know WTF they are talking about. That's why we talk
past each other. They live in a fake reality. Not watching fox, you've never heard of Legion's chew toy. Whereas he thinks you are holed up in group
therapy with COVIDAct whatever support group.... meanwhile you are just going about your business, living a normal life, and he is pulling his hair out
imagining about it.

Worse than FOX. I see regular references to Redstate, Infowars, etc. Propaganda sites for the truly brain dead.

On average, normally 7500 people die in the U.S. every day.

Does that feel like an emergency, ... Bidenbot?

Are you justifying doubling that number? The LWers scream about "30,000 gun deaths" and fail to mention 2/3s are suicides but they don't say a word about 30,000 auto fatalities. Still, that doesn't justify ignoring a disease that would double both numbers.

Hello Darth,

I noticed some outlets are starting to use the term ‘COVID related’ in reporting on death numbers.

It’s a solid clue the victim had at least one comorbid condition which actually doesn’t tell us anything we don’t already know. Coronavirus is a kind of flu that [yes, it is. Don’t let the News Fakers tell you it’s not. The term ‘flu’ applies to a set of *viral* respiratory/upper respiratory symptoms, fever, malaise etc] causes 10,000’s of thousands of deaths every year—very nearly exclusively, in susceptible populations.

Why do they report the seasonal death tally as a range? Because the number depends on how deaths are recorded. For ex: Elderly patient A who is on the verge of renal failure gets the flu and dies. How is the death recorded?

I’ll give you a hint: it won’t be recorded as death by flu. The point is it would be very easy to inflate the seasonal flu numbers to their very highest end simply by categorizing any person who dies with it as a seasonal flu statistic. 50,000 or higher is probably not out of reach.

I’d wager COVID deaths are being over reported with respect to seasonal flu deaths.

denial, anger, depression, bargaining, and acceptance.

Sounds like the bargaining stage...

Oh, you might want to edit the OP while you still can.

This makes no sense:

'10,000’s of thousands of deaths'

The current seasonal flu death toll stands at 23,000.

That’s tens of thousands. And if someone took the time and effort, they could increase that number simply by including every individual that had the flu at time of death and/or was likely to succumb an unrelated life threatening condition within the next 6-12 months, anyway.

WTF? :palm:

Those concerned with global health issues may wonder why it is that China is wracked regularly by viral epidemics in addition to coronavirus, such as SARS, African Swine Fever, and avian flu (another outbreak is happening right now).

Others may begin to look more carefully at China’s environmental devastation and the hundreds of thousands of premature deaths each year from air and water pollution.

On the trade side, many foreign corporations already have been reconsidering their operations in China, due to rampant intellectual property theft and rising production costs; now, they may seriously question how safe it is to continue to do business in China.

Not only is the health of their employees at risk, but they no longer can be assured that China will be a stable supplier.

If coronavirus becomes a seasonal phenomenon, as some experts predict, then even with a vaccine, new strains of the pathogen will always raise the specter of another out-of-control epidemic overwhelming the party-state’s capabilities and infecting the rest of the world.

The fact you dodged the question implies you are guilty.

If it hits 4000 by next Sunday is it unreasonable to expect 10,000 by Easter? Where will this death tally plateau?

Probably vary by region.

Washington state was at 132 the last time I looked and local officials were seeing encouraging data trends. If those kinds of numbers represent a topping out in large swathes of the country, that’s going to matter, greatly.

Here in WV there were 120 ish cases yesterday and no deaths. If one assumes these draconian measures are going to have an effect here, and assume a two week incubation period for the virus, that means there’s about ten days left for the COVID ‘explosion’ to happen in WV.

I wouldn’t lay a lot of money on that happening. But we’ll see.

Cases in the high density population centers will be the worst hit. New Orleans is up post-Mardi Gras. The returning Spring Breakers will spread the disease. As noted in another thread, the South could be hit especially hard due to a lack of medical facilities. Notably in Alabama and Mississippi.

FWIW, NYC is the highest density population center in the US with over 8M people. 1% of 8M is 80K. That's a lot of dead Americans in the business capital of the United States.

Facts are facts. Numbers don't change depending on which website they happen to come from. But here you are, attacking the source once more. If you had anything more substantial, you'd post it.

But the worst outbreaks correlate with high population density.

Nearly perfectly. There are a considerable number of counties in many states that don’t have a single confirmed case.

Great point, as usual, Darth.

Just because the deceased tested positive for WuFlu, it doesn't mean it was the cause of death.

It is a dishonest attempt to elevate the hysteria over this virus. ;)
