I remember watching a MAGA rally (COOL !!) earlier this year and hearing Trump say that he though Abe Lincoln was pretty much the greatest POTUS. I thought to myself, "That's interesting", I knew that Abe was a Republican, but that didn't mean anything because Trump has never been a full-blooded member of the Republican Party establishment - he's never been beholden to the GOP. Rather, he' a unique, Conservative American nationalist and nativist. His only ideological loyalties are to the culture, values and economic system, etc; embodied in the principles of the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

And THAT'S what he had in common with Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was a White, Anglo-Protestant nationalist You could even say that Lincoln was the Founding Father of the Alt-Right. It;s true, of course that, he was an abolitionist because he agreed with the concept of natural rights which Thomas Jefferson copied into the preamble of The Declaration of Independence in 1766; namely, that all men are born equal IN THE SENSE THAT they are: "all endowed by their Creator (God) with certain unalienable rights among which are, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

The Chattel slavery of African negroes in America violated the intrinsic, natural (God-given), right ALL human have to liberty. Lincoln agreed with Jefferson that this was a self-evident truth. And so, it came to pass that a bloody a Civil War (1861 - 1865) was fought between Lincoln's abolitionist North and the slave-owning Southern Confederacy. The North (Lincoln's Union Army) prevailed and America;s slaves were emancipated.

While Lincoln held that liberty for the African slaves in the US was a natural (God-given) right each slave was entitled to simply because he was a human being, he did not believe they were entitled to equal civil ( social and political) rights with respect to native, white Anglo-European Americans. i Lincoln asserted that in this sense the liberated slaves were inferior to the (superior) native white Americans.Lincoln understood that the liberated slaves could never assimilate harmoniously into white American society, and he devised a policy to deport all of the emancipated slaves from US soil. To cut a long story short, he shipped several thousand to Liberia, 5,000 to an island off the coast of Haiti, 50,000 to Panama, and cut a deal with Belize to take another 50,000 over a period of ten years. Unfortunately Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth and his deportation of slaves policy was shelved by the subsequent administration.

Lincoln felt that the Founding Fathers had intended the new American Republic to a nation for White Anglo-European Protestants. The blueprint they had drafted for its government and culture and values in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of independence were gleaned from the English Magna Carta of 1215, the tradition of English Common Law, the "Glorious Revolution" of 1688, the 17th - century English Enlightenment philosophy of John Locke, English political institutions... from the "DNA" of a distinctive White, Western- European worldview and a racial/ethnic consciousness and identity that had developed over centuries The Founders were Englishmen in every respect ( with the exception of the fact they had told George III they did not wish to have him as their monarch and promptly given him and his army "Red-Coats" the boot). Lincoln was wise enough to know that the tenets of the Magna Carta, John Locke's notion of natural rights and the natural law, the principles of Liberal democracy, individualism and the laissez faire were not part of the Negroes worldview - not aspects of his culture or consonant with his values, all of which had been forged in a different (African) world. The were not compatible with genuine loyalty to the American creed and to intermix the two radically different mindsets could only cause strife and conflict. And that is exactly what happened !

So all the leftist critics of President Trump on this forum - those who besmirch him as a |"racist", a "xenophobe", a "fascist", a "White Supremacist" for his: immigration policies and clampdowns on the millions of illegal Third World aliens living in the US, for building the wall, for defending the work done by ICE at the border and in sanctuary cities, should also realise that they are also spitting on Abraham Lincoln. They should thankful that they live in Mummy and Daddy's nice split-level house in a nice white neighbourhood and go to a nice white college and hope to hell they never get to meet the reality of American diversity when they grow up, because it hates whites and will probably beat the shit out of them.

I'm a white guy who grew up in Oakland (and this was during the height of the crack epidemic). Never had problems with anyone regardless of their background. At the end of the day we're all people and we're all God's children. If you're scared of others maybe you should look in the mirror. (that's not to suggest there aren't scary people out there because there are, but I'm speaking in general)

Lincoln was a Whig but whig had become a four letter word so they rebranded to republican.
Their thing was vast public works projects like canals and rail which promised prosperity and never delivered but did enrich friends just so you know who started that shit (ergo the bad name).
Donald should aim higher
