He said he could end the OPEC oil price war and he did ... OPEC agreed to reduce production by 10% ... but that doesn't mean anything with low demand.
So his "success" doesn't mean a thing, and his failure is the most epic market malfunction in the history of markets. And let me guess, you never want any investigation into what happened to cause that huge failure?
Claiming President Trump's energy policies have been a failure just makes you look ill informed
trump's energy policy is objectively, not just a failure, but one of the greatest failures of all time. Your only defense at this time is that it was sound, just epically unlucky.
Why were oil shipments still be delivered, if there was nowhere to put them? The oil industry has a lot of experience in driving up oil prices by withholding supply. It is illegal market manipulation, but we have to live with it. This time huge amounts of shipments were all scheduled for the same time. Where were the market manipulators?
There is one entity legally allowed to manipulate markets, and it is lead by trump. He was actively manipulating the markets when the worst coordination in the history of markets happened. Let me guess again, you never want any investigation into what happened to cause that huge failure?
My theory: trump likes telling everybody they are the ones getting the really good deal, and he is not a details person. Nor is he good at making good deals. he usually assumes he can just remake the deal in his own favor when it ends miserably. Everyone wanted to be the one to get to sell as much oil as quickly as possible, while everyone else restricted their sales to nothing. I would bet that trump just said yes to everyone, and then figured he would be able to fix the mess to his favor when it inevitably happened.
Or maybe someone planned to get either America or trump personally. It would have to either be the oil companies or OPEC+, both groups are among trump's strongest backers. I mean we are talking about Putin possibly being behind this.
Whatever it is, it is one of the biggest failures in the history of failures. As far as the oil industry is concerned, this is not a recession, or depression, it is a dark ages that will last for hundreds of years.
