Ahmaud Arbery shooting

When you are armed and PURSUING some one, your self defense claim goes out the window. Especially when the someone is unarmed and doing nothing but jogging.
Even SYG laws do not allow a person to instigate a confrontation, and then claim self defense.

As Zimmerman did, along with these two idiots.

Haven't read the thread yet, but more than one (now recused) prosecutor initially said that the murderers were within their rights to attempt to make a citizen's arrest. And then the video emerged.

The defendants told the police they had video before the video was leaked.

In a letter to Glynn County police in early April, a prosecutor previously assigned to the case outlined reasons he believed there was “insufficient probable cause to issue arrest warrants” in the case. Waycross D.A. George E. Barnhill argued that the McMichaels' actions were legal under Georgia laws on citizen’s arrests, the open carry of guns and self-defense.

The McMichaels told police they pursued Arbery, with another person recording them on video, after spotting him running in their neighborhood.

It was leaked by an attorney.

National outrage over the case swelled this week after the cellphone video was leaked and shared on social media. Brunswick defense attorney Alan Tucker identified himself Thursday as the person who shared the video with the radio station. He did not say how he obtained it. In a statement, Tucker said he wasn't representing anyone involved. He said he shared the video "because my community was being ripped apart by erroneous accusations and assumptions."

I'm sure someone will try to make that case during trial - if it goes to trial.

Why weren’t the police contacted? These men would have been told to stand down.
There's a 911 call...just like Zimmerman. In this one, the murderer was asked if 'the guy they see has done anything wrong?'. They killed him before they could be told to stand down...as Zimmerman was ordered to do.

“ Under Georgia Law this is perfectly legal. OCGA 17 -4 -60: A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge . If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion.”
Nice try Earlvanna. What was the offense?

Who told you that?

Last night, I looked through the comments on a Fox News article about the murder and was surprised to see universal condemnation. I thought this was finally something we'd all be able to agree on. I should have known I'd see apologists here—this place really is a cesspool.
Not the vast majority. You just have to know who to put on ignore. (coughLesion)

I'm not going to engage your galactically stupid game of gotcha. But it was a cute try. The man was unarmed. Period. End of story.
Duh...if it isn't evident that someone is armed, then why murder them? I thought that question was rather stupid myself.

Women use guns to defend themselves against an unarmed attacker. Men can do so also. If you are attacked, you are allowed to defend yourself.
When was the last time you read about a woman shooting an unarmed jogger, just for kicks?

I set the video in slow motion. It appears that the guy was standing by the opened truck door, as if he was waiting for the "jogger" to come. And the "jogger" ran around the truck as if he was trying to avoid the guy. In the unedited video, it appears that the guy shot him few feet away from him. He didn't appear to be in any danger at that point.

And why the hell was that guy filming and following him? Trying to box him in?
It almost appears like a helmet cam. Quite often, the subject isn't even in view. I don't think he's involved at all.

So what? So was O.J.

Slow down, doofus. Take a breath. Stop pounding your little stubby fingers on your keyboard.

arks said "If either one of these things are the case than the people with the guns should be charged. But I doubt that is the case. They'd be charged with murder if it was."

I pointed out that they HAD been charged with murder, and then your lame troll ass showed up to do your thing. Which is to post meaningless and moronic questions.
