Ahmaud Arbery shooting

Christie! Now god damnit you of all people know better. Don’t feed Lesion Troll.

Oh come one Mott, gimme a break. Quarantined because of coronavirus, waking up each day knowing that trump is still president and looking out the window to see snow coming down on May 8; I need all the entertainment I can get.

Haven't read the thread yet, but more than one (now recused) prosecutor initially said that the murderers were within their rights to attempt to make a citizen's arrest.

And then the video emerged.
In Georgia one is entitled to make a citizens arrest under certain conditions. One is that the crime is a felony. Another is that the arresting party must be eyewitnesses or have immeadiate knowledge of the crime.

On both parts here they fall short. They were not witnesses nor had immediate knowledge of a felon being committed. In the security video of the intruder at a construction site the only crime they had immediate knowledge of was trespassing. Which is misdemeanor. So they fail to meet the criteria for making a citizens arrest. IMHO

So the question legally is going be did the accused meet the legal criteria for making a citizens arrest. The next legal question is who is attacking who? As the person being attacked has self defense rights.

So I think the case will hinge greatly on these two questions. If it is determined that Bubba and Son did not meet the criteria for making a citizens arrest and it I’s determined the victim acted in self defense then Bubba and Son are in deep shit. If not they will walk.

To me it looks like the deceased was assaulted by two unidentified and armed vigilantes and fought courageously to save his life from being taken by a couple of cowards.

Curiously, you don't cite any sources for your assertions, Ohioan.

Not the vast majority. You just have to know who to put on ignore. (coughLesion)

Yes, the vast majority.

This site is more right winged than anything.

Lots of posters agree and support right wing politics on this board.

There are very few who don't.

Nobody shot an unarmed jogger just for kicks in this case, as far as anyone knows.

The owner of the alleged surveillance system claims he has video of a man who appeared to be Arbery, yet the cops never arrested Arbery based on that video. I suppose it's because there was no burglary and the best he could come with was trespassing. Yet the lunkheads allegedly claimed there was a string of burglaries by a black man that justified their chasing and killing Arbery.

"The owner of a nearby home that's under construction, listed as a victim in the police report, said his surveillance system captured at least four short clips of a man who appeared to be Arbery "coming onto his property" on February 23. The man declined to share the clips with CNN and spoke on the condition of anonymity because he says he's receiving death threats. Asked whether they showed the man stealing or committing any other crime, he said they show him "trespassing."

Police have yet to clarify whether Arbery is accused of any crime at the unfinished home."

It almost appears like a helmet cam. Quite often, the subject isn't even in view. I don't think he's involved at all.

Then why didn't he make a citizens arrest of the two murderers?

Why did he sit by and watch?

Keep supposin'. :D

ESPECIALLY given trump's control of the courts now.

The courts were controlled by racist republican white men before dump was elected.

It's why there are millions of Black men in prison now.

This is nothing new. They have been stacking the courts for decades.

Just read that he's going to be investigated. He's a neighbor of the murderers. If he's complicit, then I'm not sure why he didn't destroy the video?

Because racist white men are given the benefit of the doubt......just like now.......shrugging shoulders.

The probably was going to use the video at their next klan rally.

The owner is a liar.

If not, he would show the video of ANYONE committing a crime on is property.
