Yup, just out jogging with boots on...PIC

Is this Arbery? Edited video only shows a few seconds, media making claims anyway

There's no visible date or timestamp, and only about 6 seconds that is looped by the "news" station that released it, even though they make some claims that aren't confirmed or even substantiated by the recording they edited.

Those don't look like boots. But there's no telling who the man is, when this video was shot, or where.

Shooting an unarmed man three times is more like vengeance than self-defense. The autopsy will also reveal if Arbery was shot while laying on the ground.

Did you watch the video of the shooting? Have you reviewed the District Attorney's letter?

Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Barnhill, recused himself in early April.

The recusal letter from Barnhill provides more background details in the shooting of Arbery.

Barnhill wrote to the state attorney general that his son and Gregory McMichael had helped with a previous prosecution of Arbery.

It is not known if Gregory McMichael remembered or recognized Arbery at the time of the incident.

In the letter, Barnhill states that Arbery had a juvenile and felony record, as well as mentions Arbery’s family members that had a criminal history.

"Dear Ms Crittendon and McGowan:

Thank you again for emailing back. This is a case without any law enforcement warrants. I agreed to take the file from Jackie Johnson, the District Attorney in Glynn County, for review to see if it justified and arrest and/or presentation to a Glynn County Grand Jury.

Greg McMichael, a party/ witness in the matter, retired from law enforcement then worked at her office as an investigator for several years up until re-retiring about 10 months ago. His son, whom I have never met and do not know, is the shooter in this case. Ahmaud Arbery was shot and died in this confrontation.

Upon taking the case, my office began gathering the array of materials one normally gathers. My Chief Victim Assistant, Tammy Horlock, talked several times with Mr Arbery's family; I spoke to the mother once; Senior ADA Michelle McIntire was monitoring the collection of information through Capt. Tom Jump GPD. We had told the family it would take a month to 6 weeks to get the autopsy report. They apparently did not believe us. Note: Ms McIntire in my office received the autopsy April 2nd. I know they called the Attorney General Office sometime during this time.

My son works as an Assistant District Attorney for Jackie Johnson. Unknown to Jackie and me until about 3-4 weeks ago, he had handled a previous felony probation revocation and pleading Ahmaud Arbery to a felony in her Glynn County Office.

A local 'rabble rouser' has taken up this cause and begun publishing wild and factually incorrect and legally wrong accusations on Facebook and other social media formats calling for marches and physical affronts be made against the McMichaels at their homes, and my son's home in Brunswick etc.. . To date I have seen no direct connection between the 'rouser' and the family other than their increased calls for my office to be removed, that I must be biased.

This family are not strangers to the local criminal justice system. From best we can tell, Ahmauds older brother has gone to prison in the past and is currently in the Glynn jail, without bond, awaiting new felony prosecution. It also appears a cousin has been prosecuted by DA Johnson's office. Ahmaud, the deceased, had a juvenile and adult felony record.

In that regard, given the connection between myself and my son, and my son having worked with Greg McMichael for several years, and now known that he and Greg McMichael both helped with the previous prosecution of Arbery; I believe it is in the best interest of justice to recuse both myself and my office from this particular investigation.

In doing so I request another District Attorney be appointed to review the file and give advice to the Glynn County Police Department and determine whether there is anything justifying a presentation to a Glynn County Grand Jury.

I believe we have the majority of the information at our office.

There is a decent cell phone video of the entire shooting incident, also video of Arbery burglarizing a home immediately preceding the chase and confrontation.

We have a witness list and have done research we would include with the file to be available for the new prosecutor's use if desired.

Thank you for your help in this matter

George E Barnhill

District Attorney

Waycross Judicial Circuit"

Brunswick District Attorney Jackie Johnson recused herself because one of the men in the fatal shooting pointing a gun at Arbery, Greg McMichael, is a retired investigator from her office.

Next, the case was assigned to Waycross District Attorney George Barnhill, who wrote, “The autopsy supports the initial opinion we gave you on February 24th, 2020 at the briefing room in the Glynn County Police Department after reviewing the evidence you had at that time. We do not see grounds for an arrest of any of the three parties.”

Barnhill went on to go point-by-point why he felt Greg and Travis McMichael did not commit a crime in fatally shooting Arbery.

“It appears Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael and William Bryan were following in “hot pursuit of a burglary suspect with solid first-hand probable cause,” Barnhill wrote. “Arbery initiated the fight. At that point, Arbery grabbed the shotgun. Under Georgia law, McMichael was allowed to use deadly force to protect himself.”

Several open records cannot be released because it is an ongoing investigation.

“People need to let the American criminal justice system work. After it is completed, all of the facts and evidence will be available for the public to review," Barnhill replied.

Based on the evidence, nobody just "shot an innocent jogger". Mr. McMichaels was forced to defend himself against assault.

There was no assault. The only one claiming assault was McMichael. This is from the police incident report. Look at the 2nd sentence. It doesn't correlate with what the video showed, there was no pulling up beside Arbery. They pulled over ahead of Arbery and waited for him to catch up. Clearly McMichael lied here so everything else he said is suspicious, IMO.

"McMichael stated they saw the unidentified male and shouted "stop stop,we want to talk to you". McMichael stated they pulled up beside the male and shouted stop again at which time Travis exited the truck with the shotgun.

McMichael stated the unidentified male began to violently attack Travis and the two men then started fighting over the shotgun at which point Travis fired a shot and then a second later there was a second shot.

McMichael stated the male fell face down on the pavement with his hand under his body."

That poor kitty looks like she's gotten a whiff of the kind of bargain footwear you purchase. Not only do cheap shoes make your feet sweat, they cause many podiatric issues. Can't you get a M A N to fund some decent shoes for you? :D

You offering? I always wanted a pair of Blahniks. :D

There was no assault.

That's your interpretation.

The police report indicates that on Sunday, Feb. 23 around 1 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call at the intersection of Satilla and Holmes drives.

Glynn County Police found Arbery dead at the scene.

Greg McMichael said there had been several break-ins in the neighborhood.

He told police he saw Arbery running down the street and he asked his son, Travis, to help him confront Arbery.

The two took a shotgun and handgun because they didn’t know if Arbery was armed or not.

The police report indicates the two men got into their truck and saw Arbery running.

They attempted to cut him off, but he turned around and began running in the other direction.

They continued to follow Arbery, they shouted “stop, stop, we want to talk to you.”

When they pulled up next to Arbery, Travis McMichael got out of the truck with the shotgun.

According to statements, that’s when Arbery attacked Travis McMichael and the two men started fighting over the gun.

Then, Travis McMichael fired his weapon.

Why are you ignoring the bolded? Nowhere in the video does it show the truck pulling up next to Arbery and Travis getting out with the gun. That's just a flat-out lie. If McMichael can lie about something this obvious, I don't trust his version about any of it.

It would be nice if the local PD would produce the official reports of all recent local burglaries that I keep hearing about.

:dunno: Maybe the officer who wrote the report was confused or made a mistake. We both know you wouldn't take a white man's word for anything in these circumstances.

The video shows the assault and the self-defense.

First thing I thought also. Just plain old sneakers, not even high tops. The reporter said the footage was taken right before his encounter on the road.

If you look at this picture from the camera footage it sure looks like he is wearing construction type boots to me. Who the hell goes jogging in boots or maybe high tops loose? Shorts appear to be a type of khaki shorts with a belt, possibly. But, these are not running shorts

Jogging 12 miles from home that means he's running a marathon in boots and doesn't have any water w/ him

If he were killed on the south side of Chicago by another black, do you think that his name would be anywhere any media outlet? No. It wouldn’t. It’s manufactured race baiting outrage

Ya and he's jogged right into a home under construction for five minutes until he got chased off by a neighbor.

This is why the MSM are enemies of the people these two innocent men's lives are now ruined, they'll never get a fair trial, the prosecutor who brought the charges should be disbarred.

Ya now the MSM is in on the conspiracy!

She was speculating. None of the conclusions these talking heads mentioned are confirmed by GBI or corroborated by their 6-second video loop. Not the identity of the man, the time, date, and place, none of it.

He was fleeing the scene, he was criminally trespassing and when confronted he attacked the two men who were putting him under a lawful citizens arrest. What were they supposed to do allow him to disarm them and get shot themselves.

Arbery wasn't jogging he was a criminal and was caught in the middle of the act. Good riddance.

It's called a lawful citizens arrest of a fleeing suspect caught in the commission of a crime, so what's your point.
