Like many other states, Florida follows common law regarding citizen's arrest. Under Florida law, an average citizen can detain another indvidual until law enforcement arrives. However, this is only if they witness or have reasonable belief that the individual committed a felony.

Fuck off. I know what will and will not keep me out of prison here, boy.

I know that I could not get away with shooting someone that tried to break into my house if I chased them for 2 blocks down the road and they were fleeing and I shot and killed them.
Once they are fleeing and off the property I have no right to shoot them. I got told this by a friend that's an ex-firefighter and he has a CCW.
Actually I read it in the CCW manual, too. (He had the book)

What you say makes sense, though. I saw 2 guys hock down another that was trying to steal their car radio and beat him until the cops came.
They didn't get in any trouble, but they did not use guns, either.

They had no business trying to question the guy at gunpoint. Arbery ran around the right side of the truck to avoid Travis standing in the middle of the lane, yet Travis crossed over the yellow line to confront him.

Yes, he could have run away if he was guilty of wrongdoing and thought he was going to be caught. You don't know what was in his mind. Maybe he was hassled before by rednecks like the McMichaels and figured he'd just jog on by and ignore them. I seriously doubt that he ran toward those guys while wondering if they were out to kill him.

If you look at this picture from the camera footage it sure looks like he is wearing construction type boots to me. Who the hell goes jogging in boots or maybe high tops loose? Shorts appear to be a type of khaki shorts with a belt, possibly. But, these are not running shorts

Jogging 12 miles from home that means he's running a marathon in boots and doesn't have any water w/ him
