Where are all the starving children?

Corporations are sitting on FOUR TRILLION dollars in cash. You truly know absolutely nothing. It's amazing. I'd think you would have to make an effort to be this stupid.

https://hbr.org/2020/01/why-are-companies-sitting-on-so-much-cash

From the article you cited - and apparently didn't read:

"While global uncertainty may be elevated, precaution doesn’t explain why some corporations are sitting on more than $100 billion dollars each. Taxes do".

Building up cash reserves is not the same as removing money from circulation forever, just as a personal savings account doesn't make its contents disappear.

That money isn't doing nothing. It's reducing the tax obligations of the corporations that have wisely invested it in a cash reserve as a hedge against confiscatory taxation. The tax savings gained by that strategy pay dividends to shareholders and bonuses to management and employees.

A note on repatriation, which I know how to spell:

Balance of payments data show that U.S. firms repatriated $777 billion in 2018, roughly 78 percent of the estimated stock as of end-2017 of offshore cash holdings. Repatriation was strongest in the first half of 2018, when $510 billion was brought back, and continued throughout 2018, albeit at a slower pace (figure 1). Despite this slowing down, repatriation flows could remain above their pre-TCJA levels because the TCJA eliminated the tax incentives for keeping profits abroad.

For years we have been told that without school lunches kids would starve. We have been told that for some kids the only way they get to eat is at school. In fact it was so dire that we had to expand it to school breakfasts and even after school meals

Well, thanks to the china virus kids haven't been in school which means they aren't getting their school lunches

Which then begs the question. Where are all of the starving children? Shouldn't they be out on the streets begging for food like a Charles Dickens story?

did you realize that the school buses run their routes every day delivering bags of food?.....

Really? You claimed that profits aren't spent right back into the economy.

"Aren't corporate profits spent right back into the economy?"

No that why they are called profits, they are the balance after corporate expenses and retained by the corporation to enhance their balance sheet. Thet are not SPENT, Einstein

IN the new cars in line at food banks….

You are delusional.

Transition yourself into a Bidenette or Bidenorro!

God bless the United States of Biden

Who told you that?

Don't corporations pay dividends, bonuses, and salaries? Don't corporations pay taxes? Don't corporations buy new machinery, open new facilities, buy materials, and hire vendors with their profits?

NO NO NO, profits are what is left over AFTER AFTER expenses are paid. Thats why they are called profits, Einstein

You think corporate spending remains static?

When profits go up, spending goes up. Corporations pay dividends, bonuses, and salaries. Corporations pay taxes. Corporations buy new machinery, open new facilities, buy more materials, and hire vendors with their profits. Corporations expand with their profits and hire new employees.

Every penny of profit goes somewhere in the economy.

Not sure why you so called Conservatives continue to fight decent wages for the working man!

Decent wages are all spent right back into the economy and keeps people off of food programs.

Your stubborn efforts are self-defeating!

I don't need no stinking "Decent wages"

We all need "Decent prices"

The only ones I can think of that manipulate the forces of the marketplace are those that gamble other people's money.
