54% Say Administration Is Major Source Of Corona Misinformation

Hello archives,

I really wish we had that website that shows where the cases are around you. That would make it so much easier to decide where to shop for food, and which areas to avoid.

The president promised this fancy new website, but we never got it.

But of course, that's part of why most people say the Administration Is the Major Source Of Corona Misinformation.

So much of what he says is false.

Your local community should have some form of it, where I live, the local Gov’t keeps track of locations where people with the virus have been and it is reported in the local media. If you have visited those spots they advise to quarantine yourself and watch for symptoms

Rudimentary, but follows the basic principles of test and trace

So don't go out....That was easy....Let each locality decide what's best for them....You don't have to agree...

Yeah, but those going out carrying the virus without symptoms will spread it thru the community eventually effecting those that limit their exposure, it is a selfish attitude

If that's your opinion, no one can ever go anywhere again....

By any objective measure, the admin's messaging has been woeful.

Wishful thinking CANNOT BE POLICY. It's okay to think that way - it's not okay to base crucial decisions on what you hope.

"Over half of the people surveyed in an April poll said President Donald Trump's administration was responsible for significant amounts of misinformation on the new coronavirus.

A survey by Gallup and the Knight Foundation that interviewed 1,693 adults across all 50 states and the District of Columbia who were members of Gallup's panel April 14-20 found that 54% of respondents said the Trump administration was either the largest or second-largest source of coronavirus misinformation.

Respondents were asked what they thought were the "main" and "next most common" sources of "false or misleading information about the coronavirus in the US." The choices were the Trump administration, mainstream national news, social-media websites and apps, state elected officials (governors), friends and family, and local news."

Business Insider

Unexpectedly, party affiliation determined what people believed.

Republicans say the mainstream news is the most responsible for misinformation, and Democrats say it is Trump and Republicans.

"The White House has not responded to Business Insider's request for comment at the time of publication."

Polls don't mean anything.

The only people who call themselves Republicans at this point are cult members. So it isn't surprising that this breaks down by party affiliation. If Trump told them the sky was green, they would start a dozen threads here calling all the blue sky believers snowflakes and traitors.

Inversion fallacy. You are describing Democrats.

What are your medical qualifications to make that assessment? What medical school did you graduate from, and did you specialize in virology or epidemiology?

I hold no opinion on how long lockdowns should stay in place, I defer to the consensus opinion of expert American doctors and health professionals

He is not making a medical assessment. He needs no credentials. Science does not use consensus. You are claiming a consensus that does not exist.

6 feet does not stop a virus.

No, not unless I'm sanding or something.

Then you are part of the problem. You have knowledge that wearing a face mask protects others if you happen to be infected. So you make a conscious decision to be a selfish asshole. I guess because you cultists are so thin skinned, you somehow view wearing a mask as an assault on your freedoms. That's how stupid you people have become.

Do you wear a mask in public?

No, not unless I'm sanding or something.

Neither do I. I don't live my life in fear.

It's so bad now to where my dad tried to go to Menards the other day, but they required that all shoppers wear a mask (and people were at the front door actively enforcing that policy), so my dad just left and went to a different store instead.

I even see hikers and bike riders wearing masks now, so obviously the 24/7/365 mass media pounding of people's brains with irrational fear and hypochondria is working on the people who don't know basic immunology, virology, mathematics, etc...

Awesome, another selfish Trump Cult member chimes in and confesses that he is uninterested in protecting his fellow citizens. We already knew that pal. Thanks for nothing.

Where did you see hikers wearing masks?? You hike??

Although not many, I have seen ppl wearing masks on the trails...

In Spring mostly because of pollen & dust (many trails w/ bikes are very dusty)@ lower elevation levels & because of smoke from the many fires we have had here in Calif.......

Then you are part of the problem.
What problem? A 0.00135% infection rate is not a problem. A 0.000274% death rate is not a problem. I am healthy. I am not infected.
You have knowledge that wearing a face mask protects others if you happen to be infected.
I am not infected. Masks don't stop viruses.
So you make a conscious decision to be a selfish asshole.
No, I use them when I need to, which is generally when sanding or other dusty work. They offer good protection there.
I guess because you cultists are so thin skinned,
Inversion fallacy.
you somehow view wearing a mask as an assault on your freedoms.
No. I use them when I need them. A mask won't stop a virus.
That's how stupid you people have become.
Inversion fallacy. N95 masks won't stop a virus. Cloth masks won't stop a virus either (but it does let you wear a bandana in the bank when withdrawing your money! :D). 6 feet does not stop a virus.

This is mass hypochondria, induced by the Democrats and the fake news. This is the hoax.

According to the CDC numbers, you have a 1 in 336300 chance of even contracting the virus. Pretty good odds, if you ask me. The odds are 1 in 7 that you will be involved in an auto accident within the next year if you drive a car (Source: Dept of Transportation, US government).

There is no epidemic. There is no pandemic. There is not even a situation. The numbers of infected are just not high enough to qualify as any of the three. The infection rate is going down, too...not a vaccine in sight!

Placing healthy people under house arrest on a mass scale is unconstitutional. The governors that did this are directly responsible. Some of them are getting sued now, and successfully.
