if your being honest then you must realize the slaves never stopped working. The "blacks and browns" as you would put it are still out there delivering food, going to amazon, and all sorts of other things so that the people in media can stay at home and write about how evil it is to send people to work in this environment.

No it wasn't, the Spanish Flu was between 1918-19. There have also been pandemics in 1957-58 (Asian Flu) and 1968-69 (Hong Kong Flu).

No, not even close. The dream would have had things in place and paid for like other countries so people can feed the economic waterwheel even with work and activity stalled. It's not socialism though as it's implemented by other Capitalist countries. It's the same concept of reasoning why hospitals and other things that need to stay running have backup power systems.
