Strikes are useful in this kind of situation. Only a complete asshole would side with an employer who doesn't give a fuck about the safety of his drivers. When drivers say they're not going into Antifa zones, you know a strike is coming.

The Trucking industry is moving towards autonomous vehicles and High-Speed Rail long distance transportation anyway.

Truck Drivers are going to be local delivery only by the next decade.

So if you are a truck driver, you will be looking for a career change in the near future.

The Truck Driving industry has been steadily going in the wrong direction regarding salary for over 40 years now., as the average income of today's truck driver is $42,000 which is about half what the truck drivers were making in the 70's and 80's.
 
Some truckers are talking. When it comes down to actually doing it, going without checks, they are not so united. I believe it when I see it.
