Hmm.
It's been my experience that when someone goes on about "free speech," it often means 1) "just MY speech," and 2) "I want to be free to spew hate and racism as much as I want." The same is true about a lot of ppl who cry about PC speech.
As for JPP, if you Google "political discussion forum," there it is on the first page. If you look on the list of members and sort them by join date, you'll see that new ppl join often. Why don't they stick around? Some are probably spammers. Others are turned off by the racists and constant use of the n-word, the vile personal attacks, and the free-range trolls. I know several ppl who joined JPP around the same time that I did. They are intelligent, interesting ppl who had a lot to add, but they were repelled by some of the posters here. Maybe we should all be engaging in some self-policing? Refuse to respond to the trolls and haters, and maybe they'll get bored and leave. Just a thought.
