Sad but true. Although I doubt most RWers support it, there is certainly a loudmouthed element of Trump supporters who seek a White Supremacist, Neo-Nazi government.

No, it's no longer possible. The same goes for any and all freedoms actually. I've given up hope on ever seeing the freedoms I had just 10 years ago again, and anyone with a single brain cell will have done the same.

I'm against efforts to squash free speech. Falsely yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded movie theater with the sole intention of inducing a panic isn't free speech. Two RW extremists murdering a security guard and a deputy isn't free speech. Same for burning down a Wendy's.

This is a road that must be tread carefully. The Citizens United ruly did more harm than good but Congress doesn't seem inclined to fix it. I support a business' right to protect themselves from just litigation so either they must be allowed to do it or they must be protected from lawsuits as the link below points out.

It's been my experience that when someone goes on about "free speech," it often means 1) "just MY speech," and 2) "I want to be free to spew hate and racism as much as I want." The same is true about a lot of ppl who cry about PC speech.

As for JPP, if you Google "political discussion forum," there it is on the first page. If you look on the list of members and sort them by join date, you'll see that new ppl join often. Why don't they stick around? Some are probably spammers. Others are turned off by the racists and constant use of the n-word, the vile personal attacks, and the free-range trolls. I know several ppl who joined JPP around the same time that I did. They are intelligent, interesting ppl who had a lot to add, but they were repelled by some of the posters here. Maybe we should all be engaging in some self-policing? Refuse to respond to the trolls and haters, and maybe they'll get bored and leave. Just a thought.

We started with you can speak freely with the exception of yelling fire in a crowded theater, and then kept adding to the exception list to the point that we dont remotely anymore have free speech rights. I have come the the conclusion that we never should have started down this road, that we should have understood where this road goes.

Where do you think the dividing line should be? Or do you believe people can scream "I've got a bomb!" in a crowd and it's free speech?
