And this is why democracy is dying or already dead. You can't have a democracy with this amount of disparity and greed. Capitalism does not regulate itself and this is the poison it breeds.

This is GREAT news!, thanks for reporting! We need more Billionaires. In fact,... everyone should aspire to be one.

IS anyone here surprised?

The Democrats made this call 2 years ago when the Re-Turds had their Tax Giveaway

Excellent. This means POTUS has done his job even with all the interference. Meanwhile Democrats just LOVE to produce as many Government welfare dependent poor people as possible. Gee,... cant imagine which is the party of upward mobility...

More billionaires is not so much the problem...as are the assholes of the right who don't see the problem as a problem.

We can handle this problem sensibly...in a reasonable way. OR...we can handle it the way the French handled essentially the SAME PROBLEM back in the late 18th century...or the way the Russians handled essentially the SAME PROBLEM back in the early 20th century.

I'd much rather do it sensibly. I would hope the super wealthy would rather do it sensibly also.

Much less killing that way.

But we will see. The super wealthy of 18th century France and 20th century Russia just didn't get it. Let's hope OUR super wealthy do.

This has nothing really to do with tax rates. The study picked a time frame when the market was at a low and it has since had a massive rally. Most of the wealthiest in this country have their money tied up in stocks. This isn't surprising. You have folks on here (on the political left) who complain on almost a daily basis when the market goes down. So don't complain about the market going down then be upset that rich people benefit from it when it goes up.

:dunno:

What if people who felt the way you do quit using services provided by billionaires like Amazon, Google, Facebook and Apple? We all want and enjoy the benefits of the modern conveniences these businesses supply but then complain about people at the firm getting wealthy.

People survived in this world prior to all those services being available. If enough like minded folks chose other options the Bezos, Zuckerburg's etc. of the world wouldn't be nearly as rich and powerful as they are today.

Instead we purchase their products and then bitch about them.

I guess you can advocate for that...but it sounds about as effective as, "Then let them eat cake."

Capitalism is what brought millions of people out of poverty. So there are some billionaires who made good products. Doesn't mean there isn't a giant middle class that's doing well as well.

You might just as well keep washing toilet bowls, because you're just not smart enough to do anything else.

The GOP is funded, owned and operate by the plutocrats for the plutocrats benefit.

" Number of billionaires INCREASES as rest of the country burns"

Why is this even pertinent with what is going on today? I take it you are one of those confused individuals who thinks being treated equally somehow translates into I want what you worked for.

Because we don't want to make any sacrifices. We're pissed off at people who get rich providing us services that we want to use. If I want food I can order it online. Or I can get off my butt and go to Safeway, Costco or my local corner market. My corner market is more expensive and provides less options. But it's owned and run by a family in the neighborhood. The other options are owned by large and wealthy corporations. That's just one example.

I'm not a coffee guy but why does anyone go to Starbucks? Why doesn't everyone go to a local owned coffee house? Starbucks is far more convenient with their thousands of locations but you're making the billionaire owners wealthier each time you go there.

People can vote with their wallet.
