Job gain of 4.8 million in June smashes expectations;

That didn't take long. The unemployment rate in Mid June was 11.1%. Yippeeeeee!!! I'm delighted by this jobs report because it will help increase the value of my stock portfolio. 11.1% after many states had begun to reopen is not a surprise. But now businesses are shutting down again. You have a month to prepare the spin when the number goes up again next month. Get to work, troll.

nonfarm payrolls rose by 4.8 million in June, much better than the expected increase of 2.9 million.
The unemployment rate fell to a crisis low of 11.1%, also better than the 12.4% estimate.

Nonfarm payrolls jumped by 4.8 million in June and the unemployment rate fell to 11.1% as the U.S. continued its reopening from the coronavirus pandemic, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting a 2.9 million increase and a jobless rate of 12.4%. The report was released a day earlier than usual due to the July Fourth U.S. holiday.

The jobs growth marked a big leap from the 2.7 million in May, which was revised up by 190,000. The June total is easily the largest single-month gain in U.S. history

Don't you remember 2009, how severe a 10% unemployment rate was???? Now we've got 11.1%, and you celebrating.

Well, here comes the Donald, bragging about the great job numbers. Which is the worst possible thing that can happen for the country. He will stay the course as more and more Americans get the virus and die. Trump hides from bad news, but can't wait to appear and pat himself on the back when the news is good.

This. And Trump thinks everything is great. His ignorance is absolutely frightening. He will believe this validates his approach to the virus. God help us all.

it's not a magic wand, dullard/
UE still gets paid to new claims. But there has to be jobs to go back too.

we are still at 11% but it's coming down in chunks -which means the recovery is more then a plateau but not a v.
we had to SHUTDOWN THE ENTIRE ECONOMY for like 60+ days?
Then add in the damage from the riots and looters that cost a lot of retail jobs.

Despite all this we are smashing expectations month after month -which is how you measure a recovery

The Trump economy was so good we are bouncing back much quicker then "expectations"

Indeed.

These far left loons are cheering any bad economic news.

The source of the virus from China is China. They lied about the source and their number of fatalities. They would not share data with our health professionals that might have mitigated their virus from China. They nailed shut the doors of those with the virus from China They did not stop flights out of China and the virus from China spread around the world.

China must be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of deaths and the economic loss around the world.

Count on the far left loon apologists to defend China and falsely blame it on our great president whose closure of flights from China saved countless lives.

The president is following the advice of the health professionals and the states are opening their economies following the guidelines.

Earl, you're being to sound like a broken record with your Chinese virus story.

The news is very good;)
P.S. God will help us-keep the faith, Con;)

Yeah, that was rhetorical. There is no God. And relying on Trump is a fools errand. I think my IQ may be dropping just listening to this rambling, incoherent, idiotic statement. The only people that buy this BS are the cult members.

Of course there's a God;) You probably shouldn't listen to the president if it's lowering your IQ....

MAGA!

I LOVE IT ... THE TRUMPERS ARE JACKING THEMSELVES OFF INTO A FRENZY ...

ONLY TO HAND IT ALL OVER TO JOE IN JANUARY ...

SAY GOODBYE TO DON THE CON

You got to laugh at Trump’s presentations, regardless of the jobs numbers, on any topic, everything is “tremendous,” “never seen before,” “historical,” “more than anyone ever expected,” “largest ever,” “never been done before,” “setting new records,” etc., and then Fox comes on echoing the superlatives

Got to admit it is an entertaining act, those that actually swallow what he says got to believe we live in record setting historical times, a turning point in history, never saw anyone dress up eleven percent unemployment as a birthday cake

It's always amusing to watch him struggle to find a new superlative.... and then fail. He's got about ten, and he uses them in combination, or adds a 'very' or two at the start. His grasp of the English language is about a fourth grade level. And that isn't hyperbole. I was more articulate at 10.

In the beginning, I thought perhaps it was intentional, by design, Trump talking down to his base for political ends, but I’ve come to realize that is who he is, he has to find a way to lay praise upon himself, to make everything about him, and employing common adjectives as “biggest, largest, greatest, etc” accomplishes that in the simplest means available

As I said, entertaining

11.1% unemployment - Higher than unemployment at any point during the Obama administration
11.1% unemployment. -3rd highest monthly unemployment in the last 50 years. The only months higher were April and May of this year. Trump is #1 in unemployment. The WORST record of any President in modern US history.

Yep, he could not wait to get in front of the microphone. The concern for me he will now believe his approach to the virus is working, and he'll stay the course. While the numbers skyrocket. It was hilarious to hear him talk about Europe. Yes, they started earlier, and yes, both Europe and the US followed a similar arc in rise of cases. But when they reached their peak, they went down and stayed down. We reached our peak, dropped a little, and then took off like a rocket. He can't read a chart.
