No, they wouldn't. There is precedent. Here in Arizona the press on several occasions printed the addresses of various prominent government officials mostly again as a doxing tactic (before it got named that) and they were smacked down hard and fast by the courts for it. The NYT can try to put a "legitimate news" fig leaf on publishing an article that has as its centerpiece and thesis "Here's where Tucker Carlson lives..." but that won't fly for a New York second in court.
All Carlson has to provide preponderance of the evidence for (civil suit not criminal) is that the article can be reasonably assumed to be the cause or nexus of the violence and vandalism that occurred. That isn't a tall order.

Want to bet Carlson doesn't live in New York state? That would make this a federal case, and it is federally illegal particularly when it results in acts of violence against someone. As such, the NYT could very well be looking at both civil penalties as well as federal criminal charges.
