It’s not merely the deaths. This virus looks like it results in long term damage, perhaps a lifetime. Liver, kidney, lung damage. Blood clots. Fatigue. And more.

Agreed. Not to everyone, but certainly a significant number of Americans will be adversely affected for a long time. The economic impact of this failure of leadership remains to be seen but I have little doubt it will be very costly in American lives and GDP.

In the middle of a fight is the wrong time to count bodies. Best to just work hard to prevent more bodies from piling up and then count the dead afterward.
