That is not how science & medicine works, Stretch. Medications get approved for SPECIFIC DISEASES AND INFECTIONS.

Yep the nursing home related deaths are even WORSE in NY. They aren't counting nursing home deaths so long as the nursing home patient was transferred to the hospital and died there.

doctors are free to treat within certain parameters. But doctors first loyalty is to the patient -not to the FDA.
If they have a workable therapy with off label drug use -their duty is to continue to use it, unless banned

That's how "medicine works", The FDA banned a successful therapy driven by bad data and fear

And it’s a long drawn out process involving many controlled trials—under normal circumstances. It can take years.

But I thought we were in a life and death struggle vs a novel virus? Unless the FDA has evidence that HCQ is harming patients [NOT patients that are already critically ill and on the vent] what is their justification for banning HCQ from being used off-label against early COVID infections?

I’m struggling to find an answer for this. Even Uncle Carp is flummoxed by it.

Help me out.

The approval process is the approval process. They're not taking shortcuts for a vaccine, either. There are very good reasons for that.

The ONLY reason you guys are on the HCQ train is because Trump is. The same guy who signed up enthusiastically for birtherism, pizzagate, Ted Cruz's father being involved in JFK, etc, etc, etc.
