Some of these sycophants are counting on the fact that they are not up for re-election this year to provide them cover. When this is over a quarter of a million Americans will be dead, the economy will be in the shitter, and the President they supported will be walking out in handcuffs. It takes a while to forget that.

I fear we have too much class and sense of history to jail the potus for anything he does in office. Political disadvantage
is our punishment for exhibiting virtue. Jailing him seems too third world. Now for state crimes unrelated to office? Sure,
hang the dog.

No need to jail him for what he did in office. What he did to get there? Fair game, and he’s already a named co-conspirator in a felony. Incarcerated and penniless. That’s where he is going to find himself. And perhaps worse for him, no longer any use to Putin.

Do you think a greater percentage of Repuke poll responders might lie from shame to polsters than dems do?

I am willing to believe that is true,but I lack proof. How do you tease out the embarrassed closet Trumptard from the poll, if there is some
material amount of them. Though I'm certain it is not 10 % it still concerns me, given the stakes.

I don’t buy it. The Trump base (and that’s all that’s left of his support now) is angry, belligerent, and wants to be heard. Closet support tends to go out the window when people are dying. Everything Trump does now erodes his support with those not in that base. Many of these polls are now conducted on-line, I know I got one just the other day, which surprised me. I also got a poll that was obviously, from the wording of the questions, intended to put Biden in a bad light. I just chuckled. At the end of the poll, the final couple of questions were ‘now that you’ve been informed that Joe Biden eats little children, would you change your vote?’. Can’t make this stuff up. I’m sure that poll will be published somewhere on the right wing blogosphere.

As for Trump, I am feeling he is all in with the postal suppression idea. He probably goes through cabinet by cabinet head
asking pointedly, what can you do for me. He got to postal, and his crony had cooked that one up. It is actually ingenious.
More devious and complex than Trump could ever think of. Trump is a blunt force instrument of power politics.
He simply acquires the power and then uses carrots and sticks. Not a strategy guy.

This election is really still very close. Biden is ahead, but if two close states.... say, PA and AZ go toward Trump* instead of Biden, Trump* wins.


Of corse, if Texas goes blue (unlikely) It’s over fro Trump*.

Texas has been gradually changing over the past decade or so.

Trump will probably still pull it out - but it's only a matter of time. When that state truly is purple, or even blue, it will be a real game changer.
