I was with my Nor Cal buddies. They all know this is the new normal until climate change is addressed with a serious global and consistent effort.
They also comment that anyone not feeling effect yet will, no matter where you are. Your shameful joy will just be shame.
So you are saying that given the proper control of the actions of all people on the planet, an elite corps of experts can control and direct the climate of the planet?

I'm starting to think if the govt has to bail out a property owner, then the govt owns the land and it never gets built on again. Becomes parkland. Simple - done. Won't have to bail it out again.
Unfortunately the government far to often does bail them out.........
Many of those that have resources to bring to the table get redress, rightfully or wrongfully........
The politicians aint giving their own money away, they do what is in their best interest~which often does not coincide w/ the interests of the tax payers..

Yes, I saw it........... I don't think it would be that much, as most would already be burned- in varying stages of recovery............ Many rarely ever achieving a full/pristine(what we think of) recovery & very, very few stands/places like we have now where a man can't walk through do to the density of bush, bramble & young trees etc..
It's different to townies in England moving to their thatched cottage in the countryside and then complaining about the smell of manure.
