Watching the Debate

Biden appeared weak and feckless, unprepared and unable to deal with President Trump.

Not qualities needed for the leader of the free world.

To be honest I thought both of them were awful and the debate was totally useless. All we got was the same partisan BS from Biden and the same blustering that Trump is noted for. Neither gave me any reason to vote for them. Wasted 1.5 hours.
so look at their records, and what they want to do.
I personally find Biden corrupt enabler of his kid, but that's just me

The point is there are a lot of undecided voters and neither candidate in my opinion did one thing to sway them to their side.

the format was terrible. 1 minute rebuttals? Wallace is a control freak/

Look the media isn't going to challenge Biden's lies -Trump had to do it - it wasn't pretty but it was necessary

New debate rule:

If you interrupt the other speaker during the time you agreed not to interrupt, your mic is turned off for two minutes. The other speaker is allowed to begin over and have two complete minutes of uninterrupted time. The next time you do it, it goes up to three minutes, etc.

Trump gave himself the last word on every topic.

He was a total boor, and completely unhinged.

I was amazed at how many conservatives were disgusted by it. Trump is basically down to his hardcore base. We'll see it in the polls in the upcoming week.

I think that's the general consensus... and I doubt it changed anyone's mind...
I'm quite sure I could never vote for Joe....;)

and is it your belief that what you just pasted from joe's website is NOT anti-gun?......

As sane, intelligent and educated people can see, I've often written against the Democrat's, including Biden's, anti-gun agenda.

The fact you persist if pushing lies about others is just more proof that 1) you are not a Christian and 2) you are a liar....but that's not news to you or anyone else since your reputation as a liar and blasphemer is well known.

There is no "tie" since the VP is the tiebreaker. https://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/common/briefing/Majority_Minority_Leaders.htm

You and I can have a friendly bet that a gun ban bill will be on Biden's desk by Spring. It will be like Clinton's gun ban and the failed Obama gun ban. Biden uses the same language on his website: https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/
Get weapons of war off our streets. The bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that Biden, along with Senator Feinstein, secured in 1994 reduced the lethality of mass shootings. But, in order to secure the passage of the bans, they had to agree to a 10-year sunset provision and when the time came, the Bush Administration failed to extend them. As president, Biden will:

  • Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun. That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children. It’s wrong. Joe Biden will enact legislation to once again ban assault weapons. This time, the bans will be designed based on lessons learned from the 1994 bans. For example, the ban on assault weapons will be designed to prevent manufacturers from circumventing the law by making minor changes that don’t limit the weapon’s lethality. While working to pass this legislation, Biden will also use his executive authority to ban the importation of assault weapons.
  • Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act. Currently, the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes. As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.
  • Buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities. Biden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets. This will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.

He's too weak, TOP and did not speak about the riots and anarchy in cities controlled by Democrats, for months.

oh please. Cons I know liked the fact Trump went after Joe -nobody else will do it,not the press for sure.

Biden wont answer court packing/ how to pay for Green New Deal, and is delusional he can control AOC & Squad
How do we know this? Because Trump called him out -otherwise we would not

Control freak? The two campaigns agreed on the rules. Chris Wallace did his best to enforce the rules! That was his job.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Would be exploitable bad optics.

Agreed. Biden's best bet is to agree to any moderation changes such as an automatic mic cutoff switch. Trump would balk at such a change, blame Biden, the Democrats and anyone else, then refuse to show up. Seeing Biden talk to an empty chair like Clint Eastwood did with Obama would be good optics for Biden.

Agreed. No matter the spin, this debacle is all on Trump for refusing to act like an adult US political leader.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Agreed. Trump fans loved it, but it appears most people were annoyed by Trump's behavior. There's a difference between being Bullish and being a Bully. IMO, analysis will show Trump lost points last night and Biden didn't move the needle at all.

If the next debate doesn't have an automatic mic cutoff switch, I'll be watching something else that night. Watching two septuagenarians, especially Trump, act like juvenile punks for 90 minutes is a waste of time.

I liked Biden's comment: "Will you shut up, man?"
