60 percent think Biden won in post debate poll

I grew up on the Ford-Carter and Carter-Reagan debates, and it is hard to believe there are 30 million Americans who think a blustering, carnival barker is acceptable etiquette for the office of the presidency.

You don't get to dictate what is 'acceptable etiquette' for the office of the Presidency or anywhere else. You are not the king.

"A CNBC/Change Research poll conducted Tuesday night and Wednesday found 53% of likely voters nationwide said Biden did a better job in the debate, compared with 29% for Trump.

The poll also found 45% of those surveyed saying Trump performed worse than expectations, while 11% said the same for Biden."

Ouch. Half of American voters thinking Trump failed to meet expectations is interesting.

From the link: "But just 2% of respondents said the debate changed their vote, versus 98% who said it didn’t."

I do not believe every branch of our federal government needs massively disproportionate representation of sparsely populated states. They already receive massively disproportionate representation in the U.S. Senate.

Dude, that's exactly the point; you are advocating tyranny of the majority. In such a scenario, what is to prevent California from draining lesser populated states of their water "for the greater good"?

What you are advocating is the worst form of democracy: Two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner.

First off sport the smaller states would be totally ignored by the candidates if we had your fucked up system. Like it or not every American has the right to vote. But you prefer that only the large states voters are fully informed of the candidates positions and screw the smaller states. Thank God the founding fathers were smart enough to know absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The effect would be eradicating the need for states and put the entire nation under singular rule: the Federal government.

The United States Senate, the bill of rights, and the federal courts are set up to disproportionately represent rural states, or to protect the rights of minority groups. Asking that all branches of government be given over to the disproportionate representation of rural states is just greedy and results in a tyranny of the minority. Just my two cents.

The president is the only elected official to represent all the people, and he or she should be elected based on a majority or plurality of votes by American citizens

You are free to say up is down and left is right, but you'd still be wrong. The Founders were wise in how they set up our government. Shredding it will be strongly opposed.

All academic, of course since there's no fucking way such an amendment would be make it to the agenda much less pass ratification.

CNN? YEAH...THAT'S UNBIASED....

THIS WAS THE BIGGEST HIT LANDED:

What a lying piece of shit. He says "we caught em all"? Who was charged, indicted or prosecuted for a fucking thing? In his fucking dreams. You are just too fucking stupid to realize it wasn't his biggest hit, it was his biggest lie. You want to talk about criminal, you have to get out of Obamas admin because NOBODY in his admin was charged with a crime. Of course you want to see criminals, they are in the fat shitheads! Manafort and Cohen in prison, Flynn guilty of perjury, another he pardons. Those are what you call criminals.

I'm amazed you think this debate changed anyone's mind.

No but it was fun to watch trump all pumped up on Adderall make a juvenile scene of himself while Biden made an ass out of him. Biden is 77 and he looks like 77, Trump is 74 and he looks 3.

I thought Biden sounded weak.

No sense pouring it on when you have already made a fucking jackass out of your opponent. Might as well save it for the next one. If Biden had any concern prior to that debate he won't have for the next. He's debating a raging lying jackass all he has to do is ignore the shithead and use the time to talk to the people. At the same time the fat dumbshit can be making an ass out of himself.

I don't know where the fat shithead gets off saying no rule changes? Nobody is "changing" the rules. He and his team already agreed to the format where give your opponent the opportunity to speak and you get likewise. Nothing in the rules say they provide you with a hot mic when it's your turn to keep your fucking mouth shut. No different than having ONE mic and you pass it back and forth to your opponent when it's their turn to use it. Due to covid you just have 2, simple.

When you contest the reports you are contesting their legitimacy. It's like the idiot Birthers: by contesting Obama's citizenship they are contesting the legitimacy of his election.

I prefer heavier bullets and long-range precision shooting over idiotically emptying a magazine of 5.56s.

I, speaking for myself, didn't contest his citizenship, and his race didn't have anything to do with my preference for president.
My choice lost and life went on. It will continue to go on, no matter who is elected (unless they want to take my guns or tear
down our monuments at Gettysburg). Who is president won't have much effect on how I live. The China virus has, though.

Yes, heavier bullets are the preference for long range shooting, but I can tell you a 55 grain ballistic tip out of a .220 Swift
is a flat shooting bullet and quite accurate. I've always preferred a bolt action to any other, as is accurately placing one shot
over spraying lead. I did have fun shooting competitions using my M1 Garand though. Of all my rifles, I prefer the Mod. 70 .220
Swift, only because I worked up an accurate load for it and have had it for 48 years. The second is my Mod. 700 BDL 30-06,
it is also an extremely accurate rifle and it has put well over 1000 lbs. of deer meat in my freezer over the last 42 years. I've
always been anal when it comes to shot placement. The killing was never a concern, but wounding or causing unneeded suffering
was/is something I always tried my best to avoid. One shot, one kill is not just the sniper's creed, but also the responsible hunter's.

Trumpf debate disaster update

Trump's Support Falls Below 40 Percent Against Biden Following Debate, Poll Shows

President Donald Trump's support dropped substantially to less than 40 percent following the first presidential debate against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on September 29, new polling shows.

The poll by NBC News and The Wall Street Journal, which was published Sunday and conducted in the two days following the debate, showed Biden leading Trump by double digits—or 14 percentage points. While the incumbent Republican president was backed by just 39 percent of registered voters, the Democratic candidate was supported by 53 percent. That marks Biden's largest lead over Trump in a poll conducted by NBC/WSJ.

"The clear loser from the debate was Donald Trump," Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who helped conduct the poll along with GOP pollster Bill McInturff, told NBC News. "And at least for the short term, this has damaged his standing against Joe Biden," he said.

Trumps polls are down to 39 percent. That is coincidently the same percent that thinks Trump won the debate. They will not be moved. Facts do not penetrate.

Ouch.

That's gonna leave a mark on the campaign.

Come on landslide Biden.

Erase all doubts about contested elections.

Let America prepare to move on from this disaster of a presidency with a peaceful transition of power.

Hard to say what the effect of a diseased and infected Trumpf will have.

The take away for me is that a dude who is reticent to wear masks, and is keen to host sardine-packed super spreader events is not a guy who should be leading a national effort to address a pandemic.
