”In Wisconsin decision, Supreme Court foreshadows election night cliffhanger”

“Those States want to avoid the chaos and suspicions of impropriety that can ensue if thousands of absentee ballots flow in after election day and potentially flip the results of an election,” Kavanaughwrote in a concurring opinion released Monday night. “And those States also want to be able to definitively announce the results of the election on election night, or as soon as possible thereafter.”

“Justice Elena Kagan used her dissenting opinion in the Wisconsin case”

“Justice Kavanaugh alleges that ‘suspicions of impropriety’ will result if ‘absentee ballots flow in after election day and potentially flip the results of an election,’” Kagan wrote, joined by Justices Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor.“

“But there are no results to ‘flip’ until all valid votes are counted. And nothing could be more ‘suspicio[us]’ or ‘improp[er]’ than refusing to tally votes once the clock strikes 12 on election night. To suggest otherwise, especially in these fractious times, is to disserve the electoral process.”

Now who is the one politician out there raising fears regarding mail in voting and wants the election called election night? And here we have Beer Ball mirroring those beliefs, makes you wonder if Beer Ball also took that secret twilight Uber to the White House that has become so popular with conservatives

Got to love Kagan’s reply, how can you flip an election that hasn’t been decided till all the votes are counted?

Kagen, in her dissent said.....
But there are no results to ‘flip’ until all valid votes are counted.

however, this ignores the fact that votes cast AFTER the election is over are not valid votes......the Wisconsin case overturned a lower court's decision that the state should count votes REGARDLESS OF WHEN THEY WERE POSTMARKED........

think about that for a minute.......is a vote that is cast after an election is over a valid vote?.....

No.

So the Democrats are all set to cheat to the max in Wisconsin?

They've been trying to come up with a way to rig the election since 2016..

I agree, a vote cast after election day should not count. But of course that has NOTHING to do with this decision. It isn't when the vote is cast (which is the act of filling out and signing a ballot and dropping it in the mail) it's about when it's RECEIVED. Let's flip the script. If a vote is legitimately cast before election day, what is the rationale for not counting it? You don't have one. I take that back, you DO have a rationale. You want to suppress the vote.

That is not true:

“The Supreme Court on Monday night voted against reinstating an order by a Wisconsin federal court judge that said absentee ballots could be counted if received within six days after the election as long as they were postmarked by Election Day. The final vote was 5-3.”

Beer Ball is saying all the ballots should be received by Election Day, meaning if the PO screws up, and we all do remember Trump’s man f*xking up the PO, those ballots mailed say two days before that don’t reach by Election Day are thrown out, meaning, all the votes will not be counted.

And his adding the Trump line that elections should be known Election Day night couldn’t be any more obvious as to where he got his directions

No.

One, “pp” was incorrect, ballots had to be postmarked Election Day to be counted, and two, other than what Trump tells you, there is no proof Democrats are cheating anywhere

Want to try again

Seriously? Votes received after election day results are reported can easily be an attempt to overturn actual election results, suddenly "finding" ballots in the trunks of cars, in basements, in the back seat of the neighbors creepy van...

Elections do not last forever, and you don't get to keep voting after results have been determined just because you didn't like the result and want new "votes" to overturn the result.

And if you can jack up the USPS before election day, then you end up with potentially thousands of votes that won't be counted because the USPS didn't deliver them in a timely manner.

A lot of people are waiting until voting day to vote in person to help protect the integrity of the election.

I'm voting tomorrow. Just in case something happens.

Again, not true, especially given the number of Americans voting by mail this year

Election results aren’t confirmed until the individual States confirm them, which has never been on Election Day. We are used to TV “calling” The election the night of the election, but this was never the custom prior to recent times, elections were never official right after Election Day.

Wisconsin only wanted six days after Election Day to add those ballot that were post marked on Election Day, a legitimate consideration.
Beer Ball said no that only those ballots received on or before Election Day should count, meaning those technically voting the day before or on Election Day via mail were screwed, their vote wouldn’t count. And Beer Ball’s rationale, people knew to know quickly who won the election, sound sad lot like his master’s complaint

Trump has installed Republican operatives in the Supreme Court. They are his plan B. If he loses or it is close, he can count on a favorable decision from them. That is all he cared about. He picked the ones the Federalist Society said would back him. The other reasons the society has, he does not care about. He knows nothing of how they ruled in the past. Trump's first question is about loyalty. You know Barrett pledged it.

And again. True. Pretending that folks will not question the veracity of "found" votes and votes received after the deadline suddenly changing results is just that... Pretense. It's an absurdity to believe that nobody will question that.

At some point an election ends and you do not get to keep "finding" votes, even if you really hate the person who won. (And yes, this works both ways).

How. Drinky Brett complete ignores history and reality.

It isn't when the vote is cast (which is the act of filling out and signing a ballot and dropping it in the mail) it's about when it's RECEIVED.

and yet, the decision the court overturned was the one that said votes had be accepted REGARDLESS of the postmark.......sort of fucks up your entire argument, doesn't it........

yes it is.......I quoted the lower court judges opinion and provided a link.......you quoted an apparent news report and provided no cite........you are a known liar.......you lose......

Sucks to be a military person serving overseas then, doesn't it?

You reveal everything by putting the word vote in quotation marks. It's an implication that the vote is not legitimate. What are you afraid of? Seems no one wants to answer this question:

If a vote is legitimately cast (ballot completed, vote mailed and postmarked) before election day, what is the rationale for not counting that vote. The ONLY rationale is suppression. Period.

Of course. It's no coincidence that #TRE45ON did everything possible to fuck up the USPS ahead of the election, is it?

By counting the results on election night, figuring out how many fraudulent ballots you need in order to flip it, and then manufacturing those fraudulent ballots and counting them afterwards...

"We lost on election night by 20K votes... OH, BUT WAIT!!!! We "found" 40K ballots afterwards, so actually, we WIN by 20K votes!! Yippee!!!"

There is a reason why the first Tuesday in November is called Election DAY... It means that all voting is done on that DAY.... Anything received after that DAY is NOT allowed... Plan ahead, morons...

I am "afraid" of your compatriots manufacturing votes to "find" on Funk & Wagnell's porch, or the backseat of the neighbor's creepy van, or a "poll workers" trunk... I believe that every person who watches a "recount" where "new ballots" are "found" suddenly in cars or basements has a reasonable base reaction that believes that ballots unattached to verification information "found" in the backseat of your car just might be manufactured in an attempt to overturn an election. And it isn't the "ONLY" rationale, that's absurd.
