17.5 million early votes from people who did not vote in 2016

"Among those 17.5 million voters, Democrats hold a nearly 2 million vote advantage over Republicans, with roughly 7.5 million votes coming from registered Democrats and 5.5 million from registered Republicans, according to the Decision Desk/TargetSmart. An additional 4.46 million came from independents who did not vote in 2016.

Polls show independents overall breaking toward 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden,
who holds a large polling lead with early voters in key states, while President Donald Trump maintains a significant advantage among those who have yet to vote."

LMAO! Concart still cannot do basic math! What a fucking idiot.

given we are in a pandemic this is not a normal year as it pertains to early voting. It stands to reason more republicans than normal will also be early voting, hence why democrats are under performing in many liberal counties so far compared to historical averages.

Nope. Democrats are behind in Miami Dade for one reason. Cuban Americans. It is a fact that more Democrats than Republicans are early voting. There is no need to guess. It is a certainty.

Indeed. The reality "most" of them are not democrats, and of the independents only a few more percentage break for Biden. The reality is, these numbers, if you use your high school statistics, are not "overwhelming" nor do you know who they voted for... I'm guessing that this massive vote lead you think developed here will not appear quite so high on the actual results. (It can, in fact, be entirely different than you are expecting...it was last time for me.. I remember these same stories from 2016)...

i didn't say that republicans had an advantage overall in early voting. I agree dems are up OVERALL in early voting. my argument is 1) you can't really extrapolate exact % of breakdown given more republicans are early voting than normal, and 2) just because dems are up overall in early voting, doesn't mean much if they are under performing early voting compared to historical averages. GOP is close in several states in early voting, far more than they should be

Far closer than ever in the past. GOP voters generally vote on election day.

dems in 2016 had a 2:1 advantage in early voting. In several states they aren't anywhere close to this (so far)

yup my only concern is the typical GOP voter that turns out more on election day has been part of the early voting this year, which means GOP election day turn out could be lower

which is why these early voting numbers can be so misleading, in either direction. it's a weird election

Lol, I guess that depends on what you consider 'overwhelming. If you just count votes from the two parties, Democrats have a 57-43 lead. If that isn't overwhelming, I'd hate to think what you believe is overwhelming. If you throw in Independents, who are breaking for Biden by about ten percentage points, that gives Biden a lead in this group of 17.5 million voters of about 3 million votes in this demographic. That is HUGE. And no, you did not see these stories in 2016, because voter turnout was low, much lower than 2012 and 2008, so of course there was no such bloc that existed in 2016.

There is a very specific topic here. Your argument is a strawman.

Backpeddling, bullshitting and still plain wrong. Democrat for sure.

Yeah, I have no real feel this time around. Just no clue.

No, I go by early voting leads in the past. Democrats tend to vote early by a far larger margin than GOP voters, and in the past their lead in early voting was far larger than this lead. I believe that these numbers will be lost in that shuffle and you could be standing there wondering what happened in the end. Predicting a "huge win" because of these voters is silly.

These specific voters. Because early or not, this is not a bloc that normally votes at all. Certainly not in these numbers. If you told Biden he would have a 3,000,000 vote advantage from people who voted in this election but not the last one, he'd feel very safe. It appears the turnout for this election is massive, and that is not good for Trump. It's the reason he doesn't want to count all the votes.

Or a Trump landslide... Seriously though, folks who didn't vote before are not any more likely go to Biden than to Trump. It is literally one of the reasons the polls were so terribly wrong in 2016.

Debatable, just as there is a silent Trump vote out there there is also a new Biden vote, those people who in 2016 didn't bother to vote thinking it was going to be a Clinton landslide aren't going to take any chances this year.

That's accurate, the GOP voters traditionally wait until Election Day, but that can also mean they are older, used to tradition, and if they live in certain States, Covid may be a influencing factor with that age group

People that believe in the right of voting always find a way to get there and do it.
