True, but one of those problems is the Democrats ignoring the white working-class.
Every party does in reality. Exactly what great things did Trump accomplish for them?
And what are you supposed to do for a lot of them? Many of the industries they rely on are becoming obsolete due to a lack of need for product or by ways of automation. How do we cater to them, lie? Industries have fallen out of favor all the time in this country. Nothing you can do about it. They need education in new job opportunities but would probably say extended help in that department is that socialism boogieman.
They voted for the Iraq War. Do not act like you did not know that.
Not ignore, exactly, but definitely that group has felt since Reagan destroyed the unions that (D)s don't give a shit about their concerns and worries. I think the fact that Trump is losing by only 3M votes says more about the failure of the (D)s to produce an exciting, appealing candidate than it does about a meme going around in leftie circles that half the country is sick in the head, loves racism, and doesn't give a shit about ppl dying from COVID.

Aye, and there's the rub. Automation has stolen more of their jobs than outsourcing even. But any suggestion of programs to offer re-training for free is seen by the RW as socialism, as you pointed out.

Allow private companies to have freedom of association, ban third world immigration, stop shit-talking white people regularly. If the Democrats did that, combined with left-wing economic policies, they'd win every election.

Well, it's a little bit of both. We do have a lot of people in this country that have mental problems and shouldn't be allowed to vote. But yes, I also agree that the Democrats need to stop playing it safe with these Moderates and actually get behind Social Democrats like Bernie. Those are the candidates that have the enthusiasm.

So the answer is no, they did not support incompetent leaders like Dumbya and Palin.
As to Iraq, Biden said years ago it was a mistake.
Trump just lies about supposedly being against it. Lying about your support for the Iraq war is worse than confessing it was a mistake.
You would also be amazed at how many conservative message board posters lie about never being cheerleaders of the Iraq war
