It all seems so apparent to those of us who have not fallen for the con.

Being intelligent and being honorable are two different things. Humans are generally a bit sneaky. They are not going to reveal all of their motivations all the time. Lotta people vote for Trump just because they sincerely believe that will make them richer than the Democrat. Since that is what really drives their decision-making, the rest of their view is generally crafted to support the basic assumption, however facts must be twisted to do that. Or even if they have to dispute the basic facts, that's fair game, too, in the minds of many. I'd say this makes them diabolical, not idiots. Sure, sometimes they are even quite adept at fooling themselves. They really believe the BS. To them it is fact, the media won't tell you, everything is rigged against them, and they are really just honest people trying their best to get by in a very crazy world with lots of terrible people who 'just don't see the facts.' Oh, and liberals want to destroy their own home nation, for some reason or another, which is never explained.

That does not sound very well thought out at all. What's to stop them from deciding they want the WHOLE country back and coming after it? And if they are 'economically dependent on US,' it's not a clean break. There's a HUGE reason to resent us and want blood. What you're envisioning is not possible. Separating the two political factions into two nations half the size of the US, and expecting them to play nice with one another? Peaceful coexistence with everybody happy? That's ludicrous. Look at our history. We have a hard time getting along well with other nations, in case you haven't noticed. TWO of us side by side? Each only half as powerful as the whole was? You're dreaming. What you're setting up is the yanks and the rebs all over again. This nation is armed to the teeth. Give 'em a border and a cause and they would happily start blasting away.

There is no breaking the USA into two and expecting peaceful coexistence.

There is a reason you won't find many people who agree with you. There is a reason you never hear about this idea in the mainstream news. It is an unpopular idea, that's why. You might as well forget it.

Biden needs Nevada, too, currently with just 75% of the expected vote counted.

Currently very close.

Biden with 49.3%

Trump with 48.7%
 
It looks like Trump is gonna win GA and NC.

And he can certainly be expected to win AK.

Their ECVs are:

16 + 15 + 3 = 34

Add that to his current total: 214 + 34 = 248

If he then took PA, which he is leading with 87% of the counting done, it would add another 20.

248 + 20 = 268.

It would not be enough. He would need more.

Biden now has 264!

While I think Biden will probably win, the Democrats seemed to have severely lost touch with half of America. Any ideas on how or why? What can be done about it if Biden is in the WH?

this election wasn't about anything other than voting against trump. It's laughable that the liberals are saying biden will unite us, because the liberals have no intention of uniting anyone. they feel slighted that hillary lost to trump and with biden in office, they will do all they can to make the 'other side' hurt as much as possible.

True, if Biden wins, he has no big mandate, and he has to fight with Mitch.

I don't think Democrats were ever in touch with half of America, so there was nothing to lose there.

The right wing hate factory ensures that willing ears hear a constant stream of reasons to hate Democrats.

dude, as a diehard Libertarian i've watched the back and forth bullshit, objectively of course, and more often than not i've been attacked by liberals that hate my jorgensen vote because 'we have to get trump out of office'. SO MANY LIBERALS decried about being ruled by old white men that they put up the most corrupt and criminal politician i've seen in my lifetime (hillary) and are furious that she lost to trump. so all those liberals so outraged about being ruled by old white men nominated an old white man to bean an old white man.............if that's not pure hatred despite whats best for them.....you don't know what it is. no liberal voter out there has any intention of uniting with any of the trump supporters, NONE. mark my words...........those fuckers will do all they can to dismantle any trump action and disrespect or injure anyone who ever supported trump. That's the funny part; the Democratic Party has moved so far left that 70% of Americans are not Democrats. The best compromise they could offer was a septuagenarian who is virtually guaranteed to serve only a single term.

Obviously the Republicans aren't any better which explains why this election, like 2016, is coming down to the wire.

That was a promise to the rich donor class so unless you are one of them I wouldn't be too concerned about not believing. But I have a feeling that Biden and the Dems will keep that promise.
