Why I Think Latinos Will Break For Biden

'Latinos', like Europeans, come from different countries. The ex-Cubans tend to come from families who used to run their country as a gambling-joint and brothel for rich Americans, but most are normal, decent people.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

The big question is why the Republican party refuses to be more inclusive of the direction America is headed. They are the 'fighting progress' party.

Consider the good and the bad of both Conservatism and Liberalism. Then take the worst aspects of each and label them "Republicans" and "Democrats" respectively.

Based on your response you're not understanding the context of the joke. (it's not a big deal)
Hello cawacko,

No. This is the first I heard it was a joke. Obviously if jokes have to be explained...

Agreed on "if jokes have to be explained", but it also depends upon what people think is funny. Me? 53 genders is funny. If someone wants to list their gender as Tralfamadorian Asexual Mindfucker, their freedom to do so. OTOH, don't tell me I can't laugh when I see it or hear it. :)

Hello cawacko,

I’m just saying read more about it if you think the growth in his Hispanic support cane from only ‘rich’ Miami Cubans because you are mistaken.

I don't think it is 'only,' I would say primarily. He also resonated with rich Venezuelans, but there are fewer of them.

Hello cawacko,

So these rich Cubans and Venezuelans voted Hillary in '16 but changed to Trump for some reason in '20. Why would that be? It's not like Hillary ran on all that different of a platform than Biden. Hillary didn't say she was going to cut taxes. So if these folks are simply rich and greedy as you proclaim why didn't they vote for Trump the first time?

I don't think they are all rich and greedy. I think the rich and greedy among them were certainly motivated by greed like rich and greedy people are. As for the rest I would presume they have a variety of reasons ranging from the abortion issue to resentment of undocumented immigrants, to this: The PBS Newshour said Biden failed to counter Trump's false claim that Biden would make the USA a socialist nation.

That sounds cult-like to me. People who respond to a candidate who tells listeners what the other candidate says, but don't listen to what the other candidate actually says, have bought into the cult.

Trump people were successful in running a ground game with door-knocking and in-person campaigning, despite the worldwide deadly pandemic. The recent spiking of the pandemic numbers in Florida, particularly the Miami area, shows that.

Look at the following graphic. The darkest colored counties are the ones that favored Trump, and now have the most COVID cases coming on.

Biden's virtual campaigning failed to resonate with Miami Latinos.
