Anyone good at math?

Hello Dutch Uncle,

McConnell is worried about losing his job. He'll go wherever is best for himself, but becoming an obstructionist asshole will hurt him more than help him.

Didn't hurt him with Obama.

What has changed?

Dems are not getting the Senate.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Luckily, the States that are contested are governed by governors who know they can't alienate the majority vote without serious blowback. But that's where Trump's conman skill could make the difference. If he manages to convince enough Republicans to back his renegade election challenge, then he might get some crucial governors to make bold steps to refuse to sign off on the election. That could get messy.

Joe Biden will be announced the winner of the 2020 election by the EC on December 14th 2020.

Whatever Trump does will be for entertainment purposes. :D

Hard to hurt someone who just won his state handily. Unless you're looking to the midterms?

The Right is trying to recreate the 2000 election. In that case, the election was extremely close and a few hundred votes in one state really could have changed the outcome.
The difference with the 2020 election is that it wasn't close, Trump got creamed. So even if we are to assume a few hundred votes were mistakenly given to Biden, or Trump actually won a state that was called for Biden, it wouldn't matter. We still end up with President Bye-Don.

No. This was engineered in August and based on the 2000 shitshow of an election, though not by the "right".
Leftists always call things the opposite of what they are.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

If both Georgia Senate slots go Democrat (possible but unlikely) McConnell loses his Chairman seat.

A near impossibility.

The one race was a jungle primary. Nobody got 50% so it went to run-off. (If they had Instant Runoff Voting this expense and delay of outcome would be unnecessary)

A Republican got the most votes. A Democrat was second. Another Republican was third.

General election, all the Republican votes go for the one candidate, the Democrat is toast.

Republicans are keeping the US Senate.

Mitch is staying on as Majority Leader.

If the Democrats control the Senate, McConnell loses his Senate Majority leader position and all the perks and advantages that go with it.

Probably. OTOH, if Trump started doing Stupid Trump Tricks, that could cost the Republicans voters.

Let's call it "the Hillary Effect": You piss off so many people that they stay home on election day and you lose the election. Not that they vote for the other guy, they just don't vote at all so you lose by default.

In that race, the Reverend got the most votes, with the incumbent and second Republican finishing 2nd/3rd respectively.

You're thinking of Ossov, who came in behind the incumbent nut job by about 1 or 2 points. That one will be close.

Agree...but any obstruction would occur well after the January run off election. I'm guessing McTurtle will try to remain silent until then. Hopefully, trump keeps acting out, which would illustrate the urgent need for a Biden led govt..

Time will tell, but the Republicans know Trump's Tantrums are fucking over the party.

I am assuming the Georgia races and the Senate are lost. I would love to be wrong and pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for the correction. My bad. Sadly, though, the effect I talked about will still apply. Add up the split Republican vote for the run-off and the Republican wins.
