Hello Trumpet,

Maybe it will make people appreciate government more.

Some people. Sane people. Rational people.

But these seditionists? Nope. There may be some who reject Trumpism, but for the most part, these people are beyond the point of no return

Biden's cabinet is full of lobbyists. They are corrupt. They are anti-American.

It was pretty extraordinary that Pence stood up to Trump.
I don't think so. In fact, I'm curious to hear Pence's side of it later this year.

He had no choice. The Constitution is clear on what the Vice President's duties are.

Agreed. Like him or not, Pence is white-shirt Republican, not like the candy-assed Trump cocksuckers slobbering all over themselves taking up precious space in Congress. Pence will do his duty.

That is honest. People like honesty.

Agreed. Our nation needs more honest leaders and less bullshit in politics.

It took over 30 years to dig this hole. Hopefully it'll take a decade less or so to dig our way out again. Trump is a symptom, not the disease.

Agreed for the actual ones who rampaged in the capitol.

Since when is supporting an obviously fraudulent election somehow patriotic? What is the matter with people? See what propaganda has done to you?

I wasn't so sure about Pence. I figured he could have gone either way. I'm glad he chose the Constitution. He hasn't always done that.

It's called ending the Civil War and it has been going on a lot longer than 30 years.

Pence's legacy is still an open book. Trump's is closing quickly.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

If that's the case, why not take it back to Jefferson and Hamilton? Revolutionaries and Tories?

Personally, I'd like to bring back dueling. No substitutions. :)

This hatred came out of the South, born of guilt over what was done to the slaves, and denial that slavery was wrong, after the South was forced to free the slaves.

Oh, they freed them alright. But nobody could make them be nice to them or treat them like any other full class citizen. The hatred has been handed down from generation to generation. It has morphed along the way into what we have today.

It's time to end it.

Long before Breonna there was Emmitt Till. And many others before that.

It's all the same.

And it needs to end.

The Democratic Party split between those who can accept blacks as equals, and those who switched parties and became Republicans after the Civil Rights Act was passed.

The Republican party would be nowhere near as powerful without the racists.

Well, maybe we are about to find out.

The Democratic Party paid a big price for dropping the racists, but it survived and found other principles to stand on.

Maybe it is time for the Republican Party to do the same thing.
