The End Of Trump: Be Proud—We Kept It

Hello Dutch Uncle,

This hatred came out of the South, born of guilt over what was done to the slaves, and denial that it was the wrong thing to do after the South was forced to free the slaves.

Oh, they freed them alright. But nobody could make them be nice to them or treat them like any other full class citizen. The hatred has been handed down from generation to generation. It has morphed along the way into what we have today.

It's time to end it.

Long before Breonna there was Emmitt Till.

It's all the same.

And it needs to end.

Hate begets hate. If you want to hate all Southerners, no one can stop you.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Hate begets hate. If you want to hate all Southerners, no one can stop you.

And if you want to totally misread me no one can stop you.

Man, I love the South. I love the North. I love Texas. I love the whole country. Awesome country. Proud to be a part of it. But there is no way the work is done. We've got a lot of improvements to make.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

This isn't the first time you've spread all the blame across one group of Americans.

Racism and hatred came out of the South, yes, out of the Civil War, yes, but it has spread all over the country.

And it doesn't mean everyone in the South is bad, nor does it mean that I hate anybody. Hatred is wrong.

I do blame racists and haters for tearing our country apart and providing a platform that elevated Trump.

Dude, your history is twisted. Even Lincoln thought Africans were subservient to Euros. Euros thought all Africans were less than whites. If you dropped your hatred to a few minutes, maybe you'd review the history of the fucking British in India and Africa. Didn't you ever read about Gandhi? See the movie?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jallianwala_Bagh_massacre
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919, when Acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire their rifles into a crowd of unarmed Indian civilians[3] in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab, killing at least 379 people and injuring over 1,200 other people.

I could be like you and blame the fucking Euros for starting this, not the colonists who happened to be in the South, sometimes forcibly so, but that would be just as big of a distortion as you have made. The fact remains the naked ape is the most vicious animal on the planet because it's the smartest animal on the planet. Please stop trying to pin blame on one group or another and try to realize the problem is mankind in general, not geography.

Where did Lincoln say that?
It was a common belief among "the civilized nations".

With the nation racing to come to grips with centuries of racial sins, officials plan to remove the Capitol lawn statue of Stephen A. Douglas, whose forceful 19th century politics helped forge modern-day Illinois but who also profited from slavery.

Just inside the Statehouse hangs another revered depiction of an Illinois legend — and longtime Douglas rival — who expressed white supremacist views: Abraham Lincoln. The immense painting in the governor’s second-floor office depicts a Sept. 18, 1858, debate between the two men that opened with these words from Lincoln, who was vying for Douglas’ Senate seat and was still two years away from running for president:

“I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and Black races. ... There is a physical difference between the white and Black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality.”

FWIW, George Santayana's comment is apt here: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

You probably don't know about Lincoln's letter to Horace Greeley either. Sad.

We really are a shit country.

Hello domer76,

Agreed for the actual ones who rampaged in the capitol.

Take a look at this forum. I see it on Facebook as well. There are still a ton of Trump deniers out there. Perhaps not those who would storm the Capitol, but rabid supporters nonetheless. They will not change their spots.

We've never been able to agree on what led to the Civil War, so it is only logical that we do not agree on the aftermath.

I think it's still going on. I look out there and I see all these people trying to glorify what the South did, trying to justify it, trying to somehow claim it was magnificent and grand and all that, some kind of cherished part of our history that's in the past, but I have a very different impression. It is still with us and it is still affecting our politics and our culture.

Looks to me like the rebel losers were very bitter about losing, that they couldn't get over it, and they made it their life's purpose from then on to shut blacks out of respect or success. And they did their best to try to rewrite history to paint their cause as something glorious. It was not.

Lots of misconceptions have been passed down from generation to generation, and that is a big part of why we have racism.

Trump didn't create racism in the USA. What he did was capitalize on it politically. The fall of Trump has hurt the cause of the racists, but I agree that the problem which existed before the rise of Trump still exists.

Some Euros were worse some were not.

You tend to pick on the Euros who were better like Poles, Irish & Italians.

While, you drag your feet on the horrible Germans & English.

Oh Witold. You need to stop getting you history off the back of Polski cereal boxes. Your genetics ideas are unsupported by science and, IMO, you are trying too hard to compensate for your own genetic deficiencies. Try to play nice and you'll see most people play nice in return.

When you attack Blacks, Jews over Gunos racism, or English Australians over Dachshund Racism maybe I'll take your anti Polish prejudices & spite as more legit.

There's no genetic racial equality.

How many times do do you have to be destroyed on genes & race!?

Those just weren’t racists. They were those that were convinced and encouraged, to a great deal by Trump, that:

Mainstream media is all fake and an enemy to America
Science is fake
A looming pandemic is a hoax
That our court system and judges are liars and fakes
That any political opponent is to be villified
That our electoral system is rigged (unless he won)

He normalized pathological lying.

That’s just for starters
