Karl Rove on Chris Wallace: "It will take years for the Republican Party to rebuild"

The plan is to eliminate the R party, to punish all who dont/wont conform to the demands of UTOPIA.

Plan by whom? For starters Democrats have their own problems so while they're free of course to comment on the Republican Party challenges they have their own issues to deal with. But Rove isn't wrong, you've got folks who will back Trump over the Republican Party. They think traditional Republicans are RINO globalists. So have Trump supporters who are willing to break away from the Republican Party and support a more American first Trump-esque vision if the Republican Party won't change.

Time will tell of course but there's no conspiracy occurring here. Parties change over time and we're seeing it happen.

Yawn. So the Trumpists who stormed the Capitol are bad? Or the people who attacked police stations (who did not represent BLM nor the left) are not bad? See how that works?

i would say going into the capitol was poor taste. most were peaceful protestors instagraming statutory hall. 10's of thousands were in D.C. it was a mostly peaceful protest.

The Revolution intends for America to be a one party operation going forwards, like California. Everyone who does not support their UTOPIA is to be driven into a ruined life with no ability to be heard so that they cant infect the others with ideas and claims unwanted by our owners.

I honestly have no clue what you are talking about. Is this some Alex Jones type stuff? I listened to Chuck D and Public Enemy when I was young and he talked about revolution a lot but probably not in the way you are.

I think the Trump as a cult figure thing is oversold.

Granted, he is [was?] the unquestioned leader over the past four years but the populist nationalist movement is here to stay—with or without Trump. In fact, it’s a global movement.

All it will take is its next exponent. Whoever wants to come along and advocate for secure borders, economic nationalism, America first [aka common sense pragmatic] foreign policy, will walk right into instant support from the Trump coalition.

What’s going to be a hard sell is getting republican voters to go back to the old way. Many of us felt betrayed in 2008-2012 and in fact *that led to Trump* at least in part. Trump broadened the republican base in ways I thought were no longer possible, so I don’t know why anyone would want to go back.

Also, many republican critics like Rove lose sight of the fact that even the Never Trump’s could hardly criticize Trump on many of Trump’s *policies*; rather, it mostly had to do with his style of leadership. In fact, there’s definitely an argument to be made that Trumpism is better off without Trump.

He would even aggravate the piss out of me at times. He could definitely be his own worst enemy. There’s no reason a more conventional politician couldn’t take the lead on it.

Democrats are feeling their oats now—but they have yet to do anything besides spike the ball lol. That’s going to change real quick. I think they’re in for a rude awakening.

Every post is about some revolution. It's like the deep state on steroids. None of us have any agency over our lives, we're just all here until the revolution just swallows us up.

To each his own, but that's not how I view the world.

Welcome to the club. It's out as far as Alex Jones, but I don't know the exact source.

In the Sixties we had the Sexual Revolution. That was a lot more fun than the RWNJs are screaming about.

We have long been willing to trade in our freedom for sham promises of safety, increasingly we have no agency, we either obey or we get sacrificed for the cause.... as is always the case with Bus Rides To UTOPIA.

I remind that Rove as been one of the premier leaders of the R's and the Right over decades where both have profoundly failed America by failing to confront the Leftist Revolution that has now taken ownership of America, and even failed to warn us that America was being taken from us.

Follow him at your own risk.

Obviously my style of Republicanism is not in vogue right now. The Reagan vision of free trade, pro-immigration etc. While the economic data shows clearly that trade increases growth, and thus a higher standard of living, it also does leave people behind and that can't be ignored. Trump appealed to many of those people. On paper 'America first' sounds great, I mean who isn't for America? But tariffs retard growth. Tariffs aren't going to lead us back to a 1950's style economy. Technological advancement has made sure of that. So I acknowledge there needs to be a balancing act in the way we help those left behind.

Just my opinion of course but I don't think Trump broadened the base. I've read a fair bit the argument that Republicans should be a more working class party. But the reality is the white working class isn't a growing portion of the population. More young people are going to school and the country is diversifying. The GOP needs to be able to appeal to those folks and I don't believe we're doing that.

Many great points. Agreed we can't turn back the clock. At best all We, the People can do is stand still while the world passes us by. Isn't that what happened to the Romans, the Spanish and the English Empire? They stopped and rested on their laurels while others took over from them.

Record minority numbers for the republican in the last election.

Whatever we were doing before wasn’t working.

Will definitely not argue with you that we weren't getting high percentages of minority votes previously. But while he did get a record number of minority votes that has to be looked at in context because of population growth. On a percentage basis W. in 2004 got a higher percentage than Trump of the minority vote from what I've read.

He had a big falloff from (suburban) white women and while he increased his percentage of the black vote there was a huge increase in the turnout of black voters which did him in.

Here's the analogy I would use (and it's possible I'm very wrong here). In the mid '90's in California we passed Prop 187 which denied any public services to illegal immigrants. Two things happened after that. 1) the courts overruled it so it was never implemented and 2) Latinos turned on the Republican Party and we've never recovered. You hear a number of California Latino's today credit that proposition for getting them active in politics. I think we're going to be hearing a number of black activists in the future point to 2020 and Trump as the reason they got involved in politics (for the Democrats). We can see evidence of that already in Georgia where Trump lost and we lost the Senate seats.

As stated, I could be very wrong here. This is just my observation.
