It isn't 1776. And Joe Biden is not King George. In 1776, there was an effort to free a British colony from British rule, not to overthrow the British Government. They had George Washington. You have Donald J. Trump. They had Alexander Hamilton. You have Rudy Guiliani. They had Thomas Jefferson. You have Stephen Miller. Nope, the Trump Cult is not a group of brave patriots freeing themselves from British tyranny. It's a bunch of fat old white fucks who want to take the vote away from Black Americans, and substitute their Dear Leader for a duly elected President. Your Civil War is over. Move along.

Unfortunately, our gun laws have allowed illegal militias to grow across the country. They believe having a gun means you can kill your political enemies.

Time to review what the 2nd Amendment says, particularly that bit about "well-regulated militia." A bunch of obese bearded losers with bang-bangs is not a militia, it's just a gang of armed losers.

The 2nd Amendment is not the issue. Congress and state governments have the power to pass laws regulating almost anything proposed by the gun control crowd except banning weapons. It is a political choice and most Americans do not want additional regulations (at least the political active ones). None of those laws would prevent militias.

The fact is that we are perfectly content with the government but there will always be a few that aren't.

57% of Americans still support stricter gun laws, although that percentage has fallen slightly in 2020.

I bet many of those 57% live in states that already have stricter laws. Those 57% need to lobby their state and federal legislators to pass the restrictions they desire. The 2nd Amendment is not is what is stopping them. Those that strongly oppose such laws are much more vocal and active on that issue than those who favor them.

Anyone see that new footage yesterday?

They kept calling each other "patriots." One guys said something like, "as long as we're here, we may as well start the new government."

There was also a hilarious clip of one of Trump's geniuses looking at a copy of Cruz's objection to the results, and saying "I knew he was going to sell us out!" before someone explained to him that objecting to the results was what they wanted.

They are moving to Texas to avoid lawsuits.

The NRA wasn't bribing Congress any more than the gun control groups were bribing Congress. Congress and state legislators are afraid of the voters who will turn out to vote against those imposing restrictions.

I understand. My only point was that the 2nd Amendment is not stopping any reasonable gun regulations. It is a political decision. Several states have stricter regulations than others (but similar crime rates).

Those people need to get active. Getting voted out of office by angry voters is more powerful than campaign contributions. Votes, not money, still wins elections.

Are the many hundreds (thousands?) of federal/state/local gun laws we have due to gun control groups bribing legislators?
