Learn to read English. Which English poet did you put in your list?

Not the point I was making.
The point is that you'd have to read a myriad of languages to be able to truly judge poetry. Even then it's still kind of subjective.

BTW, in my personal opinion Orwell is the best English writer.

Not the opinion of most though.

Here is the question: is it Northern Ireland or Ulster?

Ulster Irish aren't really Irish, most of their genes goes back to Lowland Scots AKA Germanic speaking Scots of the Scots language a relative of Old English.

Although, it's questionable how Germanic English genes are more so Lowland Scots.

The Scottish Highlanders are Celtic.

It's a bit confusing because during Roman times Scotland were the Picts.

Before being conquered by Irish people the forebearers of Celtic Highland Scots.

While, Germanic speaking Vikings & Anglos settled the Lowlands of Scotland.

It sounds like he stating the obvious, that neighborhood ethnic clubs are being ignored by politicians as they become irrelevant.

My question in the thread wasn't so much about ethnic pride being wrong.

But, if Irish pride is acceptable to Democrats!?

I'd think the Democrats would think Irish pride was a bit too much like White pride.

But, perhaps I thought wrong.

I don't believe it's that much.

I think I read before that 46% of Irish have red head genes.

I was basically joking, but the point is Biden is not Nationalist in any way. Nationalists are a detriment to foreign nations and world order, don't have a need or desire for allies, and are Xenophobic- THIS DESCRIBES DONALD TRUMP- NOT JOE BIDEN.

Here is the question: is it Northern Ireland or Ulster?

BTW. The majority of Irish Americans are Protestant.

Which brings up another debate.

Are these Protestants Scots Irish AKA Ulster or are they Irish Catholics who converted to Protestantism!!??

Actually I think Biden is a little Nationalistic.

He has Irish pride, has mocked Poles, talked about racial jungles, used Shylock an anti Semitic term & made fun of Indians in convenience stores.

There are a huge number of American politicians that feel a strong link to Ireland. Ireland has immense soft power for its size.

If it makes you feel better, Poland is also beloved.

A lot of Irish Americans I've seen cozy up to the British & mock their fellow Catholic compatriots like Poles, Italians, French etc.

Although here & there I've seen some Irish Americans be anti British.

I'm actually half Irish.

I'm not so proud of that.

I feel far more Polish than Irish, my looks, politics, thinking & behavior definitely leans far more towards Poles.

I think he is an Irish Nationalist.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

But, it's out of character for Democrats.

Joe Biden's Love of Irish Poet Seamus Heaney Dates Back to His Teenage Years
"My colleagues always kid me about quoting Irish poets all the time," he once said. "They think I do it because I’m Irish. I do it because they’re the best poets."

Literally nothing at that link demonstrates that he's an Irish nationalist.

Ulster Irish aren't really Irish, most of their genes goes back to Lowland Scots AKA Germanic speaking Scots of the Scots language a relative of Old English.

The question is whether the land is Northern Ireland or Ulster? If it is Ulster, then it would be weird to join it with the Republic of Ireland. If it is Northern Ireland, then Paul McCartney said it best, "give Ireland back to the Irish." There has been generations of warfare between the Protestants and Catholics over that simple question.

It is sort of like asking is it Israel or is it Palestine?

Ulster appears to be the ethnicity.
Northern Ireland the state.

They the British Protestants came to Ireland during the Tudor plantation of Ireland & under Cromwell & since then.

Many were at first English.

Before England warring with Scotland decided to dump their Lowland Scottish issue onto Ireland as Ulster Scots.

It's unclear how many true Irish Catholics may or may not have joined Ulster Scots & Anglo Irish.

But,it wouldn't surprise me that some Irish Catholic traitors deflected to the British Protestant side.
