No it's not. it's a heritage "month" and quite frankly before say the mid 70's I would guess most black history consisted of "slaves were, slaves freed by lincoln" and the guy who create peanut butter. There is so much more to the history and culture of black americans that should be learned and understood, not by us white people but by all people including blacks who may not even know most of thier history. over time, it should settle but at first people to realize we have hidden much of the history of black americans in our teaching of american history. yes it seems we are saturated with it, but whatever. saturation may be good at first.

as for "white history month" it doesnt work, irish history, italian, russian...... why? because we are the dominant culture and we understand it better.

Some Whites were very dominant like English & others like Irish not so much.

A lot of different White groups aren't well promoted in the USA culture.

Poles & Irish are 2.

Some White groups get nothing like many of the Baltic & Balkan nations.

Which, if you think about it, the way the English treated the Irish literally led to "the troubles" with the ira etc and goes all the way back to the potato famine and further. Would you think not that the black community would feel the same way here in the US given how they were treated by segragationists like our current president?



TO me, that's why, I treat people as people. I know it's "racist" to be color blind but, again I grew up in newark nj and the lower east side of new york, I was the minority. I don't see color as un pc as that may be, content of their character and all. (also called racist these days by the left)

That's how African American community feels. They are 13% of the population while pols are, well no those that identify as having some polish ancestry is 3%, The point I am trying to make is that all cultures should be celebrated, for what they are... btw where are you? Im in nyc/nj and pols are very well represented here.



promotion is never up to others, its up to the culture, just ask any nuyrorican! ;)

I live in Pawling, NY, and grew up in Putnam Lake, NY in both cases anti Polish discrimination was fairly prominent & Polish promotion nearly non existent.

lol, I have a bunch of polish and strangely Macedonian friends here. my grandmother on my fathers side hated polish people for some reason but it was like hilarious her bigotry in the 80's. you are in Pawling? thats country, the few hillbillies giving you a hard time probably jelly of pulaski!



its not the same though as how black people are treated. especially by white new England liberals up there.


I'm telling ya man. its not a competition. you can walk into a job interview and you are white, not polish. but white. kinda hard to hide that if you are black and your name is "taniqya". I cast no blame and there are so many problems in black culture that are self defeating. but that racism is there, and the way liberal cities act towards minorities perpetuates that reality.


the left plays it off as a right wing problem, but ask "taniqya" how her job interview went in the hamptons.

you know what I miss?


I grew up trading smack with my friends. so often it was trading insults about race or ethnicity... etc. it was fun, light hearted sorta. it was fun. now everyone wants to be a victim and if I said what I said as a kid to any of my friends, I'd be cancled cultured, and depending if they were the right race, creed or orientation, they could say the same back to me and be cool.


I used to harass one of my buddies who was from Columbia on my hockey team (this is nyc, we have chines making bagels and jews making tex mex) that he was mexican. apparently thats highly insulting (I knew that), once when we were drinking on lake placid after a pond hockey tournement he says to me "you know I am not mexican right" I says of course I do, your last name ends with a s not a z!


Next morning we get on the bench and he hands me a bottle of Jameson and says to me, "we need to win, mic".....



I've had same covo's with every friends I have, black, latino, italian, polish, etc. we don't in general have pride in our heritage anymore, just offense if someone says anything about it.



I'm rambling but think about it.



how awesome is that? come on now. part of celebrating our differences is mocking it, we've lost that, now everyone is offended.

You do realize, don't you, that our German ancestors came here over 200 years ago, and have since intermarried with Scandinavians, Scots, Irish, English, French, Swiss, Italians, eastern Europeans, Asians, Hispanics, Natives, and Africans?
