The White House on Thursday sidestepped questions asking if President Joe Biden was doing anything to curb rising gas prices, as those in the industry warn motorists might face $3 per gallon in a matter of weeks.

A reporter at the daily briefing asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki if Biden was planning to intervene on the rising prices.

GasBuddy, which tracks fuel prices, warned today that the national average “may breach $3 per gallon by Memorial Day. GasBuddy noted that that large cuts to oil production “will generally be extended.”

“I don’t have anything on that to preview for you,” Psaki responded to the reporter.

Legion, aren't you exaggerating the facts, just a bit???????????????????

Let's see...

She's clueless. Check!
Gas prices will top $3 soon and have already in some parts of the US... Check!
It's Biden's fault. Check!

Everybody knows that the President of the United States has the responsibility and the authority
to set the global price for crude oil, transportation of same, and refining .

Job One: pardon the Thanksgiving turkeys.
Job Two: set the oil prices.

Why should the press secretary waste her breath answering obvious questions about that?

Counting the collective IQ of the trumpanzees on this forum would not require the use of all twenty fingers and toes on any of the much smarter apes.

Energy policy (or lack of it in this case) and foreign policy (one again lacking here) has a profound effect on energy markets. Therefore prices. Biden needs to stop hiding and fess up. Where is he anyway?

Thank You, I was wondering if Someone would point out the Huge Fly in their Whine Soup.

Clue to the Clueless, the President does not set or control the price of oil and gas. And while we are at it aren't you whiners are the same ones that say you support the US oil and gas industry, but yet you do not want them to make a profit, me thinks you are very confused on a lot when it comes to this topic.

So a White House Press Troll who doesn't understand basic macroeconomics is asking why the president (whose job is NOT setting gas prices) isn't lowering gas prices, and you expected a serious response?

He should've been escorted out right then.

Who said they don't want the US oil and gas industry to make a profit, Mr. Strawman?

You crack me up when you try to act intellectual and educated. You really just come across as the uneducated bullshitter you are.

Nice strawman argument. Biden does have the ability to set national energy policy. By ending pipeline construction, banning new drilling and exploration on federal land he's driving the price up. By foot dragging (like Obama did) on new permits, he's driving the price of energy up. He looks set to drive the price of copper up as his administration is opposed to the Oak Flats Resolution copper mine in Arizona opening to full production.

So, while he may not set the price of a commodity, his actions can have a huge impact on the price of a commodity. With gasoline he's signaled such that the price is being driven up.

I want the oil and gas industry to make a reasonable profit. Right now, they make less profit off a gallon of gasoline than the government does in taxes, and the government adds nothing to the value of that gallon.

Remember when Obama tapped the National Strategic Oil Reserve to bring down gas prices?

Oh good grief, he did not end all pipeline construction, and it was not even Our pipeline, good the oil and gas industry has lots of place they can drill, and there are some areas that need to be left alone, that is why the land is Federal land, to Leave it as it is, plus think of it as money in the bank for later. NONED of which is drive the price of oil and gas up, heck there are wells sitting all over the place that have been shutdown. Cooper, now we are on to cooper?

Clue the Oil and Gas prices are not related to what Biden just did, do some research.

Then let them slowly raise their prices so they can make a buck, don't forget that little supply and demand angle.

Technically correct. But can he write executive orders that interfere with the efficient logistics of getting a product to market? Do you remember when mad maxine waters threatened to nationalize the oil companies? That's some hard core communist venezuela BS right there, and she ain't even the president!

And while we are at it aren't you whiners are the same ones that say you support the US oil and gas industry, but yet you do not want them to make a profit

Why would we capitalist pigs not want them to make a profit? Especially if I have cheap gas in my tank? It is overwhelmingly the left in this country that abhors profit because it fosters "inequality". Hell, the left thinks profit is actually racist! I say let 'em make as much money on it as they can, and pay as little taxes as they can get away with. Corporations of any size, are there to make a profit. Every once in awhile when the democrats get power, they'll make a commercial saying something along the lines of "we're people, just like you, working together to save the planet and humanity!" Gag...spare me.

True but the pipeline Biden stopped for now, is not Our Product and not really for Our Market.

Then take it up with those want gas prices held down so they can get cheap gas but could not give a crap about the oil and gas companies making a profit, you get one or the other, not both, there is a place in the middle but no one wants that, right?

Whoever wrote those EOs for Biden has engineered a fuel crisis for America within the next few months.

Just in case you missed it in the 70s:

Gas rationing and lines around the block are coming soon to a town near you!
