They had to have had one light too high and angled downward to produce a shadow like that- and didn't offset it with one to erase the shadows.
So why no shadow under his nose if the light is so high above?

Anyway, the explanation is that the place has low light and the bright light is from above, casting shadows on both necks, thus creating striking contrast, compounded by video artifacts.
