Floyd case ‘a milestone’

does anyone understand WHY no knocks are used??

Such warrants are issued where an entry pursuant to the knock-and-announce rule (ie. an announcement prior to entry) would lead to the destruction of the objects for which the police are searching or would compromise the safety of the police or another individual.

I think you are seeing that being played out.

when we can see citizens use force against government agents to prevent or stop criminal action and NOT be attacked and then prosecuted for interference, then it'll play out. until then, we're still hoping government regulates itself.

Oliver Stone could tell you about it.

Our society has some real issues with lawlessness and that has increased the cop/perp interactions. So learn to live with these sorts of issues because the root problem isn’t being recognized—much less addressed.

what's the root problem that causes 'cop/perp' interaction???

Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas would beg to differ, so would breonna taylor

The Nixxon 'No-Knock' Laws were passed to bust Pot Smokers. Previously, the Cops had to knock on your door and wait until you answered it. The 'War on Drugs' campaign decided to just kick in the doors of the Pot Smokers and catch them sitting on their couches before they could flush their weed down the toilet. 40 years later, thanks to Tards like Dukkha, Waco happened along with thousands of 'Breona Taylors'.

Dukkha = Anti-American Fascist.

"Derek Chauvin’s conviction for the murder of George Floyd is heaping more pressure than ever on the Senate to finally enact nationwide police reform, senators in both parties said Tuesday in the wake of the verdict."

Where does one even start with this.

Let’s start with race. Apart from the fact Floyd was black and Chauvin is white what did race have to do with it? There is no coherent answer for that question. If you think you have one I’ll be happy to hear it because I’ve yet to hear it.

‘Milestone’ implies progress. Progress towards what? Anyone who thinks the Floyd case or Chauvin’s conviction is going to change anything is delusional. If anything, it represents a regression in race relations. It can easily be argued that [because he’s a white cop] Chauvin didn’t receive a fair trial because if the jury wasn’t intimidated then they weren’t paying attention—or maybe they are truly brave souls intent on doing the right thing regardless of the consequences to their homes, their jobs and their lives.

Such a quick verdict even in light of Floyd’s toxicology report? Gimme a break. That jury was intimidated.

Maybe it will lead to less black men who are killed by white cops [when they are killed by black or minority cops it doesn’t matter?]. If you think that—think again. And the reason is painfully obvious to many of us.

It’s because it has nothing to do with race. 99.9% of these bad outcomes would disappear off the face of the planet if more black men would simply stop resisting arrest. It’s exactly that simple. Nothing to do with slavery or ‘structural racism’ or whatever it’s called this week. Just less black men resisting arrest. How do we get that to happen?

Until the country is ready for that conversation the next George Floyd or Michael Brown is waiting in the wings.

And around we go. But maybe the Marxist BLM leader will be able to add to her real estate portfolio.

Statistics show police mistreat blacks. Nothing to do with anything you stated.

:bigthink:

People breaking laws and then running when caught or resisting arrest, primarily.

A difficult concept for some, apparently.

it's not always the case, though. There have been dozens of times us open carriers have been stopped, harassed, arrested, even abused by law enforcement having broken no law..............explain that

A milestone for some and a millstone for others.

We have divided cultures in this country.

Not much sign of that changing.

Of course. They were not intimidated. They could have escaped easily during jury selection if they were afraid. It's just complete nonsense. And they have presented no alternative. Because they don't have one. They are whiners. Nothing more, nothing less. Devoid of ideas or proposals. Darth fits right in.

I'm guessing that many lynching victims didn't 'resist arrest'. They still wound up dead. I wonder if that has anything to do with black peoples fear and distrust of the police.

I could equally claim that they were intimidated into returning the "not guilty" verdict prior to the verdict by those who believe that Chauvin is innocent.

Yep. Because they are far more likely to make ACTUAL death threats. I'll lay even money they get death threats if any of them choose to reveal their identities. And you can bet the Trumptards will do everything they can to find out.

African-Americans are arrested at a higher rate for drug abuse

African-Americans are arrested for drug abuse at a much higher rate than white Americans, although surveys show drugs are used at similar levels.

In 2018, around 750 out of every 100,000 African-Americans were arrested for drug abuse, compared to around 350 out of every 100,000 white Americans.

Previous national surveys on drug use show that white people use drugs at similar rates, but African-Americans continue to get arrested more often.
